Sue Naugle passed away suddenly Saturday, September 9, 2023, at her home. She was born September 6, 1931, in Kalamazoo, MI, a daughter of Henry and Helen (Smit) Mejeur and had been a lifelong area resident. Sue was 1 of 8 siblings growing up in difficult economic times but always had what she needed. She attended the Christian schools, graduating from Kalamazoo Christian HS in 1949. Sue met her future husband, Archie, when both were 15, were married on October 12, 1950, and were about to celebrate their 73rd anniversary. She worked at a couple of different office jobs when they were first married but primarily was a very devoted and faithful wife, mom, and homemaker. Sue was a charter member of Prairie Edge Christian Reformed Church and was still attending at the time of her death. Sue & Archie loved traveling, visiting much of the US & Canada. They especially liked staying at their place at Thornapple Lake and spending the winters in Harlingen, TX. Sue was prolific at keeping a journal/diary, recording daily activities for over 40 years. She was also a terrific baker of cookies and especially pies. More importantly, Sue loved Jesus and served Him faithfully. Sue was unfailingly kind and thoughtful, never having a mean word for anyone. Sue & Archie enjoyed living life together and were nearly inseparable. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Uko (Grace) Mejeur, Jen (Hank) Hoekman, Trena (Art) Mick, Albert (Maxine) Mejeur, Jerry Mejeur, Alice "Jean" Bradley; and brother-in-law, Bill Kokmeyer. Sue is survived by husband, Archie Naugle, as well as her children, Carol Naugle, Dan (Nancy) Naugle, and Julie (Dan) Josuns; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Marge Kokmeyer; special niece Susan Bennett, brother-in-law Marshall Bradley; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11:00 Wednesday morning, September 13, 2023, in Prairie Edge Christian Reformed Church, 9316 Oakland Drive, Portage MI 49024, with Pastor Bill Fernhout officiating. The family will receive guests at the church beginning at 10:00 and immediately following the service. Graveside services will be held Thursday in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. Ronald Owen Blake, known affectionately as Ronald to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2023, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, at the age of 70. Born on October 9, 1953, in La Grange, Indiana, to the late Robert and Geraldine (Simpson) Blake, Ronald was a man of gentle spirit and kind heart whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around him. Ronald grew up in the warm embrace of a loving family and community. He attended Martin High School where he proudly graduated with his high school diploma and as a drum major. forming friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime. Ronald was a gifted and talented musician with which he shared with anyone who knew him, especially his children. His gentle demeanor was a constant throughout his life, making him a beloved figure among his peers and in his neighborhood. Throughout his life, Ronald was a devoted father to his two sons, Paul (Jenna) Blake and Perry Blake. He instilled in them the values of kindness, patience, and the importance of family. His six grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Ronald is survived by his sister, Connie Nelson; his uncle, Roger Simpson; his aunt, Sharon VanEck; and a close-knit family of several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The son of the late Floyd Smith Sr. and Johnnie Lee Davis was born on May 16, 1946, inGreenville, MS. Floyd attended Saginaw Public Schools and graduated from Saginaw High School in 1964. He wasemployed by General Motors for many years. On April 1, 1967, he was united in marriage to MarthaCleo Miller. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2023. He was a big University of Michigan fan andenjoyed watching sports, listening to jazz and he loved eating tacos. William Andrew (Andy) Reed, 72, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away on November 22, 2023. Andy was born in Saginaw, Michigan, November 3, 1951 to William T. and Constance Reed. He was graduated from South Haven's L. C. Mohr High School with the class of 1969 and from Alma College in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in philosophy. He loved to read, consuming everything from Shakespearean classics to the niche works of German philosophers. He was an Eagle Scout and National Merit Scholar. Andy spent many years in Kalamazoo, enjoying a career at Kalamazoo College before relocating to Atlanta, Georgia. He spent much of his time in Atlanta coaching local high school swimmers and tutoring university students in English and philosophical studies when he wasn't spending time farming or baking bread at home. Andy will be remembered for his dedication to his hobbies, his love of sports (from football to futbol), and his appreciation for and consumption of all fields of knowledge. He is survived by his sons, William (and his wife Samantha), of Decatur, Georgia, and David, of Paris, France; sisters Melissa Reed (Mark Rydecki) and Gretchen Arkins, of South Haven, Michigan; and long-time partner, Gail Zorn, of Valdese, North Carolina. Travis Lee Osborn, 44, of Battle Creek, passed away on November 23, 2023, under Hospice Care in Kalamazoo. He was born on August 29, 1979, in Battle Creek. Travis loved his daughter Alyssa beyond measure and loved his dog, Gunner but nothing compared to his love for his daughter. He was completely devoted to her. He enjoyed going out on the boat with her and would often go fishing with her off the dock. He cherished these moments and found solace in the peacefulness of the water. Travis is survived by his wife, Marijke Osborn; and their daughter, Alyssa Osborn. Family meant the world to Travis. He is also survived by his parents, Patricia Gay, Mark (Kim) Osborn; in-laws Jerry (Mary) Bornamann; siblings, Donald Osborn, Mindy Olivarez, Matt (Kim) Moore, Tom Moore, and Kaylee (Derek) Adams; grandmother, Barb Osborn; nieces and nephews, McKenzie, Alex and Kyle Moore, Zay and Lanie Olivarez, Tiffany Schmidt, Justin, Hannah and Ella Bornamann, Audri, Hailey, Nolen Bornamann. He formed lifelong friendships during his time there and always cherished the memories he made. After moving to Kalamazoo, MI, she united with North Westnedge Church of Christ, where she attended until she met health challenges that prevented her from attending. James Leroy Reid Sr was born on December 9th, 1940, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Leroy had a zest for life and enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, finding solace and joy in nature. Leroy also had a passion for movies and sports, spending many hours watching and discussing his favorite teams and films. Music held a special place in his heart, with Ray Charles being a particular favorite. Leroy's love for music extended to playing music himself on his keyboards. However, above all, Leroy cherished spending time with his family and friends. He had a remarkable ability to leave a lasting impression on everyone he met, with his warm and caring nature touching the lives of many. Leroy genuinely loved people and had an innate ability to make others feel valued and appreciated. Throughout his life, Leroy displayed unwavering dedication and commitment in his work. He retired from General Motors/American Axle after more than 25 years of exceptional service. Leroy's strong work ethic and determination served as an inspiration to those who knew him. Leroy and his beloved wife Esther made their home in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where they raised their family. In their later years, they relocated to Three Rivers, Michigan, where they were active members of Riverside Church for many years. He was baptized on August 20th, 2009. Leroy's deep faith in Jesus was a cornerstone of his life. He eagerly shared his beliefs with anyone who would listen, always ready to discuss his favorite scripture, John 14:2: "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. "As we mourn the loss of Leroy, we find comfort in knowing that he is now in the embrace of his heavenly mansion, reunited with loved ones who have passed before him. Leroy's love for Jesus and his unwavering faith bring comfort to those who mourn his departure. Leroy was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many as a caring and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Irene Reid, his sister Christine Moncrief, his brother Eugene Reid, and his brother George (Ronnie) Reid. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 59 years, Esther, and their four children: James Leroy Jr. (Cheryl), Anthony (Crystal), Angie Benn (Terry), and Eric (Teresa). Leroy also leaves behind his brother Duane (Juanita) and sisters-in-law Bonnie Reid, Donna Richardson, and in-laws Leon and Gladys Dungey. Additionally, he is remembered by a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and close friends. She also loved to visit her grandmother\u0027s house with her cousins, swimming in the pool and playing in the acres of land at her house. She enjoyed spending weekends at her father\u0027s house as well. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
