Laura Biathrow

Laura Biathrow

Age - 102

November 3, 2023

Laura Elizabeth ("Betty") Biathrow, 102, of Brewster, MA, died peacefully on October 28, 2023. She was born to the late Frederick Warde and Helen (Patterson) Padgett in 1921 in Norman, OK. After moving to the East Coast, she studied art at Grove City College. Like so many members of the Greatest Generation, she set aside her plans at the outbreak of World War II to contribute to the war effort, working as a secretary at RCA Corporation. She married Navy Lt. Lindsay Biathrow in 1945, after which they split their time between Arlington, MA and summers on Nauset Heights in Cape Cod. Never able to empty the "sand in their shoes," they retired full-time to Cape Cod in 1979 and Lindsay died in 1982. Betty's faith in Jesus Christ and love of family occupied her time and she was an active member of the Cape Cod Bible Alliance Church for many years. Her favorite things were to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoy Cape Cod's beautiful beaches. She loved art, interior decoration, cooking, antiques, and, most of all, watching her beloved Red Sox - even into the wee hours of the morning. Betty is survived by her two children: Scott (Elizabeth) Biathrow of Orleans, MA and Lynne (Peter) Band of Hollis, N. H. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Amy (Eric) Hood, Scott Biathrow, and Sarah (Brian) Field, six great-grandchildren, Callum and Mia Biathrow, Benjamin and Nathan Hood, Vivian and Thomas Field, and many nieces and nephews. Beloved by all who knew her, she will be remembered for the tenderness, kindness, and sweet demeanor that impacted those around her for more than a century. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to CAMA Relief & Development or the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held on November 11, 3 p. m. at the Cape Cod Bible Alliance Church, 3600 Main St, Brewster, MA.Show more
