South Berwick- Steven E. Pike passed away with his wife and children by his side on April 4, 2023 at Mass General Hospital after battling cancer for over 9 years. Steve was born on September 26, 1960 in Dover, NH to Albert E. and Marcia (Raitt) Pike. Steve is survived by his wife of Thirty three years, Diana and their children, son Timothy E. and his wife Olivia Pike and daughter Kimberly M and her husband Mychal Croteau. He was blessed with a grandson, Lincoln Croteau and beyond excited to know his son and daughter in law would be welcoming a son into their lives in August. Steve is also survived by his brother, Peter and his wife Robin Pike, sister Laura Pike, aunt Judy Stevens, father in law William Budlong, brother in law John Budlong and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and mother in law Joyce Budlong. Steve was an active member of his church's youth group (BYF) while growing up and enjoyed many bike hikes to Bunganut Lake and attending Canoe Camp at China Lake. Steve graduated from Marshwood High School in 1978 and then entered the Navy for 4 years. He served aboard the USS America Aircraft Carrier on the flight deck. After leaving the Navy he worked as a Press Operator for the Chronicle Print Shop, Riding's Press and Pike Printing. In October of 1987, Steve began his thirty five plus year career at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard working in Shop 38 the Outside Machine Shop. Carrying on the tradition of camping with his parents and siblings, Steve took Diana and their children to Bar Harbor Campground over many 4th of July weeks and spent Labor Day Weekends at Four Seasons Campground in Naples, Maine. Steve and Diana also took their children to Disneyland many times as well as a trip to Honolulu Hawaii while Steve was there on one of the many trips he took for the shipyard. Steve could always be found on the sidelines of every sporting event his children participated in with his camera in hand. Taking pictures was one of his greatest passions. Steve would take Diana on many backroad drives at night listening to the oldies and making her guess the name of the song and who was singing it. They also enjoyed many trips together in Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut and North Carolina with Steve capturing photographs of more than 100 lighthouses. In October 2019, Steve and his family went on a memory filled trip to Colorado where they drove to the top of Pike's Peak and walked through the Garden of the Gods which brought Steve so much happiness. They visited several museums including the Money Museum and the National Museum of World War II Aviation which enriched Steve's love of history. A Celebration of Life for Steve will be held on Saturday, April 15 from 12:00pm - 3:00pm at the American Legion Post #47 in Rollinsford, NH. All of Steve's family and friends are welcomed to attend.
