Frances Linenger

Frances Linenger

Age - 98

November 30, 2023

Frances Jennie Linenger, age 98, of Clinton Township, Michigan passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023. Frances spent the first 26 years of her life in Forest Park, Illinois with her immigrant parents Frank and Frances Pusavc. She was the oldest of four children and she was close to her siblings Frank, Dolly and Bobby. Throughout her life she took pride in her father's shoes repair shop and the hard work ethic of her parents. The second phase of her life began when she met the love of her life, Donald W. Linenger, on the beach in Saugatuck. After several years of long-distance dating, they married on August 26, 1950 and she joined him in East Detroit, Michigan. In their little bungalow, she cared for their family as a proud, efficient, penny-pinching homemaker. Her dedication to Don was exemplified by the sandwich that was always ready when he came home from work for lunch each day. Once the kids were raised and through college, she and Don enjoyed traveling throughout the U. S. and abroad. Widowed at the age of 65, she began the third phase of her life, eventually selling the only home she and Don had ever lived in and moved to her condo in Clinton Township. It's there that she spent the last decades of her life. She made many new friends and continued to gather with old friends at the East Detroit Senior Center. She traveled to Russia to visit family and Slovenia to reconnect with the roots she was so proud of. Fran stayed active walking well into her nineties. Although her routes became shorter and more predictable, she continued to drive and live independently to the end. This classy lady left a lasting legacy in the minds and hearts of those whose lives she touched. She lived out her strong faith and was loved and respected by her five children, 18 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a contagious laugh and was extremely thoughtful - she never forgot anyone's birthday. We are all better people for having known her. She will be deeply missed but grief is just the price we pay for having loved. In lieu of flowers or memorials please consider passing on a random act of kindness this holiday season. Arrangements under the direction of Resurrection Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Church, 41300 Romeo Plank Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038. Instate will begin at 9:30 AM, until time of funeral mass at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038, where she will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Don.
