STEVEN MICHAEL GALLANT, 58 of Revere, MA formerly of Reading, MA passed away on September 6, 2023 after a brief illness and a long struggle with addiction. Steven was born on May 21, 1965 in Salem, MA. As a child, he was active in the Immaculate Conception parish serving as an altar boy while attending the Immaculate Conception School. He played CYO basketball and Little League baseball before attending Revere High School where he often headlined the varsity basketball squad. He earned his bachelor degree from Fitchburg State and rose to senior vice-president at Boston Financial Data Systems. Although Steven was blessed with a sharp mind and happy disposition, he struggled to believe in himself. Despite the love and support of his family and friends, Steven was never able to see himself as others did. He fought on through several attempts at sobriety, hoping to be the husband and father he wanted to be. Eventually his body succumbed, and he could fight no longer. Steven was the son of the late Joseph V. and Constance E. Gallant of Revere. He is survived by his children Mark Anthony and Madeleine of Peabody, Isabella and her fiance Joe Merullo of Salem. He also leaves the love of his life, Marissa of Peabody. Steven was the brother of Paul V. and Jean M. Gallant of Halifax and Mary Ann and Stephen O'Leary of Reading. He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph "Peter" the husband of Kathy Gallant of West Roxbury and his brother Mark D. the husband of Dianne Gallant of Barnstable. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews as well as dear friends. Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Revere on Wednesday with a viewing from 10am-11am followed by a funeral Mass. Burial will be private. Directions to Funeral Home

Elinore Mary (Spang) Rogers passed away on November 5, 2023 surrounded by her family. Elinore was born to the late Kathryn (O'Brien) and Edmund Spang on December 27, 1938 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She was married to the late James Francis Rogers for forty-seven years and is survived by their four children: Kathryn Gallagher and son-in-law Paul; James Rogers and daughter-in-law, Amy; Christine Holloran and son-in-law, Jim; Patricia Harootian and son-in-law, Peter. A loving grandmother, she leaves grandchildren Katie, Kristen, Hannah, Jimmy, Grace, Chloe, Cam and Michael; and three great-grandchildren, Jack, Laura, and Emilia. Elinore grew up in Cambridge and graduated from Boston State Teachers College in 1960. She met the love of her life, Jim, while working at the Five and Dime in Cambridge. They married on June 30, 1962, and moved to Reading where Elinore resided for the past 55 years. Elinore enjoyed being a school teacher in both Reading and Wilmington, where she built deep friendships with many of her colleagues and cherished their many get-togethers in her retirement years. Elinore always looked forward to summers. In her younger years, she enjoyed her time at Meadowbook Country Club with her family and could frequently be found out on the tennis courts with friends. Most of all, Elinore cherished summer vacations on Cape Cod with her family and grandchildren, and created much joy and many lasting memories. Elinore relished spending time with friends and family. She looked forward to gatherings and made every occasion a "party" whether big or small. She especially treasured spending time with her sister, Kathleen Lynch of Wilmington and her family. Elinore's presence will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Donna Marie Anderson was born in Lynn, Massachusetts on August 31, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Hazel (Berrett) Galante of Saugus, MA. She was the loving wife of the late John ("Jack") Anderson. Donna was a hairdresser by trade, and an entrepreneur, having owned and operated a hair salon in Lynnfield for several years. She was a server at the Horseshoe Grille in North Reading for over 30 years and a hairdresser at the Bear Mountain Skilled Nursing Facility (formerly Wingate) in Reading for some years simultaneously to her waitressing job. Donna could never sit still and worked up until her illness earlier this year. Donna was a sports fanatic, with a particular affinity for hockey, football and golf. She was an avid and decorated golfer and traveled extensively to play. She had a million colorful stories about partying with Bruins players and playing in golf tournaments worldwide. She was an excellent golf instructor to many when she no longer played golf herself. She had countless friends and was a stranger to nobody. Everybody loved her. Donna is survived by her son, Dirk Anderson, daughter-in-law, Erin Anderson, and her one and only beloved grandson, John ("Jack") Anderson, all of Tewksbury, MA; her dear brother, Ralph Galante of Centennial, CO; her nephew Michael Galante and his wife Carole of Arlington, TX; her nephew Mark Galante and his wife Karen of Henderson, NJ; her niece Lauren Furuta and her husband Glenn of Centennial, CO. She is also survived by several amazing great nieces and nephews and many wonderful cousins. Funeral arrangements will be private but a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Nicholas Salerno, beloved son of the late Nicholas and Ilean (Carroll) Salerno, passed away on Wednesday, October 18th, 2023 with his loving family at his side. Nick grew up in Somerville and attended Somerville schools. He was a proud United States Army Combat Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. After his service, Nick settled in Somerville and then Brockton. He worked devotedly as a substance abuse counselor and for Teen Challenge in Brockton for many years. Nick dedicated his life to helping people in need. His greatest joy came from being with his family. Nick was a dedicated uncle and made sure to spoil his niece, nephew, great niece and great nephews. Nick is the devoted brother of Kathleen Toppi and her late husband Ronald, cherished uncle of Kelly Almieda and her husband Gregory, Gregory Toppi and his wife Gena, great uncle to Cole Almieda, Luca and Anastasia Toppi. Nephew to surviving aunt Anna Messuri and loving cousin to many. Friends and family are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St. North Reading (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 4 to 8pm. A Funeral Service will be celebrated for Nick on Wednesday, October 25th, 2023 at 10:30am at the Cota Funeral Home.
