Stephen Wayne Ferree, 63, passed away September 7, 2023. He was born on January 12, 1960 in Sullivan to Herman Scott and Carolyn (Hoffeditz) Wilson. He worked at Woodco Walls for about 30 years. He also worked for Vigo County Animal Control and Vigo County Dispatch. Steven enjoyed campaigning for different politicians. He loved shopping for antiques and loved his dogs, Doberman Pinscher, Poodle, Pitbull, and Schnauzer. He is survived by his sister Carla Wilson, brothers Ronnie Wilson (Angela) and Joseph Wilson (Jamie), aunt Cheryl Everly, uncle Ray Hoffeditz (Cyrena), nieces and nephews, Ashley "Nikki" Urbain (Jeremey), Joseph Wilson (Ashley), and Brittany Wilson (Cody); great nieces and nephews, JJ Hall, Malachi Urbain, Ayden Urbain, Trevin Urbain, Ryker Urbain, Brynlee Urbain, Braylee Wilson, Kyden Wilson, Coby Bell, and Libby Bell; and many other cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Chester Wilson, mother Caroline Wilson, brothers David Wilson and James Wilson, aunt Joan Higar (Bill), uncles Melvin Hoffeditz (June), Sam Hoffeditz (Ruth), and Zeke Hoffeditz (Maryjean); and cousins Don Hoffeditz, Greg Hoffeditz, and Mike Higar. A visitation will be held Saturday, September 16th 2023 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Samaritan Funeral Home. The family asks that donations be made towards funeral expenses. Mary Ann Kaperak, 79 passed away on December 2, 2023. She was born on September 15, 1944 in Terre Haute to Stephen Kaperak and Nellie (Osborn) Kaperak. She worked at RCA for 30 years where she received multiple awards. She also has worked many jobs over the years, including Burns Security, CT Systems, Thomson Consumer Electronics, Adecco, Kelly Services, Hoosier Handpack, DADC Packager, Pfizer, and Rocke Diagnostics. Mary enjoyed painting stained glass, and she was great at sewing sweatshirts. She also loved reading, especially the Sunday papers. When she was younger, she took belly dancing classes. Mary loved to visit and talk with anyone she came in contact with. She is survived by her brother Tom Kaperak of New Mexico. She is preceded in death by both parents, sister Martha Sickles, brothers Stephen Kaperak, Joseph Kaperak, and John Paul Kaperak; and an infant brother. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 11 am to 1 pm at DeBaun Funeral Home with a service to follow at 1 pm. Deborah Kay Tharp, 65, passed away December 7, 2023. She was born on November 18, 1958 in Greencastle. She is survived by her daughters Jennifer Tharp, Susie Olinde, and Erin White; son Shawn Tharp, brother Joe Davis, grandchildren Robert Tharp, Wayne Tharp, Michelle Bailey, Cody White, Tyler White, and Tyberius Tharp, and great-grandchildren Kioko (who was like a daughter), Waylon, Bowen, and Gabriel. She is preceded in death her husband Wayne Tharp, both parents, and son Travis Tharp. She loved her fur babies and fur grandbaby. She also loved her friends and would speak of them often. Gerald Wayne Head, 62, passed away December 8, 2023. He was born on October 13, 1961 in Brazil to Albert Head and Bertha (Muncie) Head. He worked as an arborist for many years. Gerald was very good with any and all mechanical work. He also enjoyed camping and fishing. Barbara Badger

Age - 84

Barbara Mae Badger, 84, of Cayuga passed away on December 5, 2023 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was born on September 10, 1939 in Dugger, Indiana to Dale and Bernice Turpin. She attended Dugger High School and married Jerry Badger on January 16, 1957. Barbara worked first at General Electric, then Mervis Industries for over 20 years, and most recently was a teller at the First Financial Bank in Cayuga. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She especially looked forward to the holidays when she could get the whole family together and they would all enjoy her wonderful cooking. She was a faithful member of West Liberty Church of Christ in Covington for the past few years as well as the American Legion Auxiliary Post 263. It was no secret that Barbara had a gifted singing voice and has been compared to the likes of Loretta Lynn, one of her favorite country singers. Barbara is survived by her children Debbie (Bill) Dunavan of Cayuga, Terry (Mary) Badger of Covington, Scott Badger of Cayuga, and Trudy (Rick) Mackey of Hoopeston; her grandchildren Autumn (Jeff) Badger Jackson, Terry Badger II, Tony (Summer) Badger, Keith Penrod, Chelsie (Austin) Acord, and Tiffanie (Ben) Drake; as well as 15 great-grandchildren and sister Patricia Howard. She is also survived by her cousin Harriett Gossman and best friend Cindy Edwards, and her most loyal companion Sammy. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jerry; her brother James Turpin; her granddaughter Paige Badger; and her great-grandson Terry Badger III. A visitation will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 pm EST on Monday, December 11, 2023 at West Liberty Church of Christ, located at 2806 W. State Road 32 in Covington, Indiana. Larry Eugene Stuckey, 81, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on December 6, 2023, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, on July 11, 1942, to Wayne Albert Stuckey and Clissie (Forster) Stuckey. Larry was a member of Blackhawk Community Church. He worked as a Physical Education Teacher for 46 years, 39 of them at Dixie Bee Elementary. He coached basketball, softball, and tennis. Larry is survived by his wife Dianne (Craffets) Stuckey; children John Stuckey, Larry Stuckey, Amy Napier, and Cara Stuckey; godson Nate Mills; grandchildren Lauren, Josiah, Ayden, Xander, and Auslee; and brother Gary Stuckey. Sally Marie Fordeck,49, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away December 4, 2023. She was born on October 19, 1974, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Sarah (Sanders) McCammon and Michael McCammon. Sally graduated from Terre Haute North High School. She went on to earn an associate degree, to work as a Certified Medical Assistant. She was a member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church. She held membership with OES #43 and Daughters of Mokana. Sally was a past Honor Queen for Jobes Daughters and was the 1994 DeMolay State Sweetheart. She also enjoyed playing her French Horn and being with her dog. Sally is survived by her mother Sarah McCammon; children Abigale Fordeck, Austin Fordeck, and Hunter Fordeck; brothers David Marlow (Alisha) and Paul Wayne Marlow (Judy); and several nieces and nephews. He worked at the Vigo County School Corporation for 37 years. Steven's hobbies were fishing, working on his car, watching sports, and NASCAR. Linda Lee (Jones) Brown, 80, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on December 2, 2023, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on April 4, 1943, in Madison, Indiana to Coyt Henry Jones and Nellie Lee (Callis) Jones. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, James R. Brown and by her children Doug Brown (Judi) of Birdseye, IN, Terri Brown Brough of Terre Haute and Scott Brown (Kelly) of Brazil, IN. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Melissa Brown; Zachary Tate (Colin Tokarek); Levi Brown (Kendall); Brianna Brough Hubble; Tiffany Brown Yarbrough (Donn James "DJ"); Alyssa Brough; Jessica Brown Kamacharov (Georgi); Trey Ellis; and Amber Ellis Reece (Devin). She leaves behind nine great grandchildren, Gavin Hubble, Makinley Lambert, Beckett Yarbrough, Jaxon Brough, Damon Brown, Bo Ellis, Maggie Reece, Elliot Reece, and Jackson Reece. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, brother Larry Jones, and grandson John Coyt "JC" Brough. Linda graduated in 1961 from Honey Creek High School in Terre Haute. She was a past co-owner of Midtown Motel and Lin-Nel Linens. Linda had a deep spiritual faith and was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Terre Haute. She was an active member of the Swinging Mates Square Dance Club of Terre Haute. Adored by her husband, children, grandchildren and nearly everyone who knew her, Linda was a force of nature. She had an incredible passion for all living things but most especially for her family, plants, nature, animals, and art. She was compassionate and always happy to lend a hand to others. Family and friends knew they could count on her. She could always be relied on to show up. No matter what. Her love and support was a guiding light for her family. She was one of the charter members of the Spay-Neuter League, Inc. Linda was a member from the group's formation until shortly before her death. Over the past 42 years she has held various officer positions in the organization. She and the other volunteers are responsible for saving the lives of countless cats and dogs in the community. Linda was a gifted and talented artist. She was a certified Master Gardener, often donating her time and labors to making the world a more beautiful place. She believed we should all care about our environment and for all of the creatures who live among us on this earth. A Celebration of Life will be held at Mt. Ronald Louis Stephens, age 81, passed away in the comfort of his home in Terre Haute, Indiana on December 1, 2023. He was born to Virgil Stephens and Thelma Morris Stephens in Terre Haute, on May 17, 1942. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Pearl Eugene Stephens. Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years Carolyn Jean Stephens; daughters, Teresa Sue Stephens, Lori Ann Hubbard (Timothy Hubbard); Cindy Lou Randolph; brother, Thomas Stephens (Wanda); sister, Linda Gregory; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Ronald was a member of the graduating class of 1960 of Glenn High School. He enjoyed being the proprietor of Stephen Inn for 56 years.
