Stephen Wayne Ferree, 63, passed away September 7, 2023. He was born on January 12, 1960 in Sullivan to Herman Scott and Carolyn (Hoffeditz) Wilson. He worked at Woodco Walls for about 30 years. He also worked for Vigo County Animal Control and Vigo County Dispatch. Steven enjoyed campaigning for different politicians. He loved shopping for antiques and loved his dogs, Doberman Pinscher, Poodle, Pitbull, and Schnauzer. He is survived by his sister Carla Wilson, brothers Ronnie Wilson (Angela) and Joseph Wilson (Jamie), aunt Cheryl Everly, uncle Ray Hoffeditz (Cyrena), nieces and nephews, Ashley "Nikki" Urbain (Jeremey), Joseph Wilson (Ashley), and Brittany Wilson (Cody); great nieces and nephews, JJ Hall, Malachi Urbain, Ayden Urbain, Trevin Urbain, Ryker Urbain, Brynlee Urbain, Braylee Wilson, Kyden Wilson, Coby Bell, and Libby Bell; and many other cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Chester Wilson, mother Caroline Wilson, brothers David Wilson and James Wilson, aunt Joan Higar (Bill), uncles Melvin Hoffeditz (June), Sam Hoffeditz (Ruth), and Zeke Hoffeditz (Maryjean); and cousins Don Hoffeditz, Greg Hoffeditz, and Mike Higar. A visitation will be held Saturday, September 16th 2023 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Samaritan Funeral Home. The family asks that donations be made towards funeral expenses. Barbara Mae Badger, 84, of Cayuga passed away on December 5, 2023 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was born on September 10, 1939 in Dugger, Indiana to Dale and Bernice Turpin. She attended Dugger High School and married Jerry Badger on January 16, 1957. Barbara worked first at General Electric, then Mervis Industries for over 20 years, and most recently was a teller at the First Financial Bank in Cayuga. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She especially looked forward to the holidays when she could get the whole family together and they would all enjoy her wonderful cooking. She was a faithful member of West Liberty Church of Christ in Covington for the past few years as well as the American Legion Auxiliary Post 263. It was no secret that Barbara had a gifted singing voice and has been compared to the likes of Loretta Lynn, one of her favorite country singers. Barbara is survived by her children Debbie (Bill) Dunavan of Cayuga, Terry (Mary) Badger of Covington, Scott Badger of Cayuga, and Trudy (Rick) Mackey of Hoopeston; her grandchildren Autumn (Jeff) Badger Jackson, Terry Badger II, Tony (Summer) Badger, Keith Penrod, Chelsie (Austin) Acord, and Tiffanie (Ben) Drake; as well as 15 great-grandchildren and sister Patricia Howard. She is also survived by her cousin Harriett Gossman and best friend Cindy Edwards, and her most loyal companion Sammy. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jerry; her brother James Turpin; her granddaughter Paige Badger; and her great-grandson Terry Badger III. A visitation will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 pm EST on Monday, December 11, 2023 at West Liberty Church of Christ, located at 2806 W. State Road 32 in Covington, Indiana. A funeral service will take place starting at 3:00 pm at the church with Pastor Kurt Flora officiating. She will be laid to rest at Eugene Cemetery next to Jerry following the services. Linda Lee (Jones) Brown, 80, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on December 2, 2023, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on April 4, 1943, in Madison, Indiana to Coyt Henry Jones and Nellie Lee (Callis) Jones. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, James R. Brown and by her children Doug Brown (Judi) of Birdseye, IN, Terri Brown Brough of Terre Haute and Scott Brown (Kelly) of Brazil, IN. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Melissa Brown; Zachary Tate (Colin Tokarek); Levi Brown (Kendall); Brianna Brough Hubble; Tiffany Brown Yarbrough (Donn James "DJ"); Alyssa Brough; Jessica Brown Kamacharov (Georgi); Trey Ellis; and Amber Ellis Reece (Devin). She leaves behind nine great grandchildren, Gavin Hubble, Makinley Lambert, Beckett Yarbrough, Jaxon Brough, Damon Brown, Bo Ellis, Maggie Reece, Elliot Reece, and Jackson Reece. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, brother Larry Jones, and grandson John Coyt "JC" Brough. Linda graduated in 1961 from Honey Creek High School in Terre Haute. She was a past co-owner of Midtown Motel and Lin-Nel Linens. Linda had a deep spiritual faith and was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Terre Haute. She was an active member of the Swinging Mates Square Dance Club of Terre Haute. Adored by her husband, children, grandchildren and nearly everyone who knew her, Linda was a force of nature. She had an incredible passion for all living things but most especially for her family, plants, nature, animals, and art. She was compassionate and always happy to lend a hand to others. Family and friends knew they could count on her. She could always be relied on to show up. No matter what. Her love and support was a guiding light for her family. She was one of the charter members of the Spay-Neuter League, Inc. Linda was a member from the group's formation until shortly before her death. Over the past 42 years she has held various officer positions in the organization. She and the other volunteers are responsible for saving the lives of countless cats and dogs in the community. Linda was a gifted and talented artist. She was a certified Master Gardener, often donating her time and labors to making the world a more beautiful place. She believed we should all care about our environment and for all of the creatures who live among us on this earth. A Celebration of Life will be held at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 3050 East Davis, Terre Haute, IN 47802. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 4:00 p. m. , visitation will be from 2:00 p. m. to 4:00 p. m. at the church. Entombment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Greiner Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
