"Donna Marie (Desrosiers) Barre, 67, a lifelong resident of Chicopee, who grew up on Simone Road, passed away on Friday, December1, at Southbridge Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Donna was born on February 15, 1956, a daughter of Norman and Irene (Dobosz) Desrosiers. She was a graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School and former Certified Nurse’s Assistant for several years in the local area. Donna was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be deeply missed by family and friends. She leaves behind her loving children, Tina M. Piechota and Jeremy Piechota both of West Springfield, four grandchildren, Damien, Tina, Raymond, and Jayce, and two great grandchildren, Joziah and Damien, Jr., niece, Amber Passidakis and nephew, Brandon Passidakis both of Westfield. In addition to her parents, she was recently predeceased by her husband, Roland G. Barree on January 26, 2023, sister, Gail Passidakis in 2013, and Derek Passidakis in 2021. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, December 8, for a period of visitation from 4 – 6:30 p.m. at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, followed by a service at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Benvenuti, Sr., 69, of Dennison Lane, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Thursday, Jan. 18th, after a two and a half year courageous battle with cancer. He leaves his wife and best friend of 41 years, Laureen N. (McDonald) Benvenuti; his son, Ronald J. Benvenuti, Jr. and his wife Ashley of Southbridge; his three daughters, Melissa A. Roberson and her husband Sean of Phoenix, AZ, Megan C. Romero and her significant other, Alexander Rajotte of Southbridge and Sarah AM Kennedy and her husband Eric of Brimfield; his mother, Betty Ann (Bird) Benvenuti of Clearwater FL; a brother, Michael Benvenuti of Atlanta, GA; his sister, Doreen Thompson of Clearwater, FL; his eight cherished grandchildren, Brianna, Emily, Seamus, Noah, Madelyn, Alexanderia, Brian, Jr. and Lilah. Ronald was predeceased by his father, Julian L. Benvenuti and a brother, Roy A. Benvenuti. He was born in Southbridge and graduated from Southbridge High School. Ronald was a 50 year dedicated employee of Dexter-Russell in Southbridge. He fought through all his cancer treatment and returned to the place he loved as a Supervisor and worked up until this past December. Ronald enjoyed playing golf, bowling and fishing especially at his favorite spots in Georgia. He loved drinking some beer and playing Keno with his friends at the Golden Greek restaurant in Southbridge. Ronald was an avid sports fan and followed all the New England sports teams especially the Boston Bruins. He did however have a few other favorites including the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons, and the Atlanta Braves. Ronald and Laureen loved their trips to Florida to visit family and friends in Clearwater. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Brimfield. Ronald loved music and could be often seen dancing and singing around the kitchen to Bob Dylan or Merle Haggard. He was big fan of Sponge Bob Square Pants and shared his love for him in his interior decorating. Above all Ronald was a strong and devoted family man who truly loved his wife, children and grandchildren. A celebration of life for Ronald will be held on Saturday, March 9th at 4:00 PM at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 59 Mills St., Southbridge. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ronald’s name to the Cancer Center at Harrington, 55 Sayles St., Southbridge, MA 01550.

He was born in Norwich, CT. the son of the late Appollinaire " Jerry" Gauvin and Gervaise "Gerry" (St.George) Gauvin. Ray leaves his wife of 39 years Christine (Payne) Gauvin; a son Paul and his wife Belinda of Bucksport,ME.; a daughter Melissa Chase & her husband Jason of Spencer; 4 grandchildren Taylor (Gauvin) Beaulieu & her husband Dustin,Jacob Gauvin, Eyan Chase and Griffin Chase; 2 great grandchildren Emma and Hunter;2 brothers Gary Gauvin and his wife Christina and Allen Gauvin; a sister in law Joyce Gauvin; nieces, nephews,cousins and friends. He was predeceased by 2 brothers Paul and Andrew Gauvin and 2 sisters Janet (Gauvin) Bruscato and Bonnie Gauvin. He will be dearly missed by all.Ray was a machinist at FlexCon in Spencer for 28 years and recently retired from his true passion-Auto Body. He had a genuine love of music. He was a drummer for the “Shooting Stars” from Baltic,CT. After 27 years he put down the drum sticks in 1986. He had a passion for all things car related and Monday night poker night was his favorite night of the week. He had a genuine soul. His family was the light of his life. You could always count on him to fix or build anything needed. Charlton: Maureen F. (Drake) Ryczek, 81, of Brookfield Rd., passed on Saturday, December 30th at UMass Memorial Hospital – Harrington, after an illness. Her beloved husband of several years, Robert T. Ryczek died on Nov. 17th, 2023. She leaves her daughter, Karen Jansen of Charlton; her three grandchildren, Cassandra Buck, Jonathan Leduc, and Patricia Fishwick; and her eight great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Kelsey, Isabelle, Riley, Jacoby, Jameson, Lillian, and Lorelei. She also leaves behind two brothers, Michael Drake & Dennis Drake. Maureen was predeceased by her son, Russell Carlson, on Nov. 6th, 2023, and her two brothers, Ralph “Buddy” Drake, Jr., and Brian Drake.Maureen, the cherished matriarch of her family, was born in Worcester, the daughter of Ralph F. and Nora M. (Casey) Drake. A former waitress, she owned Drake’s Spa and later worked at Annie’s Country Kitchen in Sturbridge before retiring, many years ago. Known for her vibrant personality, her compassion extended far beyond serving at work; Maureen loved having family over, ensuring everyone was taken care of with warmth and hospitality. In recent years, her quick wit & personality remained strong – a source of laughter and candid moments for all. Maureen and her husband, Robert, cherished their time as snowbirds, traveling to Port Charlotte, Florida to bask in the sun, lounge by the pool, and spend time with their friends and family. Maureen’s home was always open to guests; most recently she hosted Christmas dinner. She doted on her grandkids, and later on her great-grandkids, and was always up for a visit; her home was full of toys to play with and a drawer full of snacks. She loved her dog Snuggles, almost as much as her daily, “toast and tea.” Maureen will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who filled the lives of those around her with joy and laughter. Maureen’s funeral services and burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southbridge, will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Maureen’s spirit by “paying it forward” with a good deed or donation to a cause close to their hearts.

Fitts and her husband Danny of Sturbridge; her son, Samual Donesing and his wife Dominique of Las Vegas, NV; her two brothers, Michael Bashaw and Bruce Swaider; three sisters, Stephanie Bashaw, Lynn Poirier and Angie Tretheway; her five grandchildren, Brittney Guertin, Mackalyn Fitts, Braydon Bowen, Savannah Donesing, Aziel Donesing and her great granddaughter, Avayah Morales. Misty was born in Malone, NY the daughter of Francis and Vincetta (Mincolla) Bashaw. Misty grew up in Southbridge and graduated from Southbridge High School. She worked at the Charlton Manor Rest Home in Charlton as a cook and was an instrumental part of the care team during the height of Covid. Misty truly enjoyed her job and loved spending time with all the residents who she cared for and help for years. In her younger years she worked at the American Optical Company in Southbridge. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and traveling, especially to Las Vegas. Misty was a very caring woman who loved her family.Calling hours for Misty will be held on Friday, Jan. 5th, from 5:00PM to 7:00 PM in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a funeral service to follow in the funeral home at 7:00PM. Burial will be private. Prosper Gadoury, age 79, of Southbridge died tragically after a pedestrian accident in Southbridge Friday, December 14, 2023, he passed late December 22nd at UMASS Memorial Medical Center -University Campus of Worcester. Prosper was born August 13, 1944, in Webster, MA. He is the son of the late Edgar and the late Yvonne (Renaud) Gadoury. He is survived by three sisters: Georgette Wegscheid, Yvonne Lubecki and Louise Hebert, and two brothers: Edgar Gadoury and Gerard Gadoury, Many nieces and nephews. Prosper had many friends at St. John Paul II Parish in Southbridge and has lived the past 15 years in Southbridge. He lived many years in Dudley and enjoyed being a baker at local bakeries before retiring. A memorial service will be held at 5:30 pm on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Bartel Funeral Home, 33 Schofield Avenue, Dudley Calling hours will be Friday, January 12 from 3-6 pm at Bartel Funeral Home, 33 Schofield Avenue, Dudley, MA.
