Steven Douglas Brooks, 68, of Forest St. Harrisburg, NC; passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Atrium Health Cabarrus. He was born November 3, 1954, in Cabarrus County to the late Douglas Brooks and the late Ruth Craig Brooks. Steven was a graduate of Concord High School, Concordia College and RCCC. He was formerly employed with Continental Tire. Service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 200 Sims Parkway. Harrisburg, NC. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with funeral service at 12:00 PM. A burial will follow at the Church Cemetery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Parks Brooks. Those left to cherish his memories include, one son, Dorian Montgomery (Tara) of Charlotte, NC; two daughters, Shaina Montgomery of Harrisburg, NC and Stesha Brooks-Alsop of Harrisburg, NC; five grandchildren, AJ Montgomery, Kevin Brooks, Kadin Alsop, Kieran Alsop and Tiernan Spice-Ortiz; two sisters, Ruth Brooks of Concord, NC and Ursula Barrier of Concord, NC; sisters-in-law Esther Roseman, Dorcas Stafford (Michael); brothers-in-law Larry Parks (Jane) and Melvin Parks (Nancy) and a host of other relatives and friends. Lee Roger Allison, 71, of S. Main St. , Kannapolis, NC departed this earthly life on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Atrium Health - Cabarrus, Concord, NC. He was born September 23, 1952 in Cabarrus County to the late Lee Allison, Jr. , and the late Fredonia Boger Allison. Lee was educated in the Cabarrus County School System and attended Central Cabarrus High School. He served in the United States Air Force. Lee was formerly employed with Livingstone College. Vester Louise Earl Moore, 93 of Powder Street, Concord, NC, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Universal Healthcare, Concord, NC. She was born July 16, 1930 in Cabarrus County to the late William Earl and the late Bessie Smith Mitchell. Vester received her education in the Cabarrus County School System. She was formerly employed with Pillowtex (Cannon Mills). Vester was a faithful member of Centergrove Road Church of Christ. "Judy Carol Bowlin Ferguson, 73, of Kannapolis went to be with her Lord and Savior and husband, Jerry Ferguson on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023. Judy was born February 1, 1950 in Kannapolis, NC to Betty and Rudd Bowlin. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, family, friends, and travel. An active member of her community, Judy volunteered for organizations such as the Pilot Club of Kannapolis, participating in local activities Light Alight and selling landmark ornaments. Within the district, she volunteered for the Surfer\u0027s Healing program and numerous workshops. She was also involved in Samaritan\u0027s Table, Kimball Church Blood Drives, and Senior Bingo events. She donated blood and platelets as often as she could, and was able to donate tissue following her passing. She was a longtime member and active participant of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church. Judy owned a local salon where she continued to work and stay active in her community. Judy spent her final years traveling often with friends and family, making the most of her time on earth. She was honest to a fault, bright, spunky, and ambitious. She left a mark on everyone she met. She is preceded in death by husband, Jerry Ferguson; and brother, Joe Bowlin. To continue her memory, she is survived by daughter, Angela Null; son, Jason Johnson; grandchildren, Allison Null, Ashley Melton, Josie Johnson, Allen Null; great grandchildren, Bethany Hodges, Samuel Melton, Dean Laney, Raylen Medina, Ryder Medina, Isaac Melton; and siblings, Rita Bowlin, Jamie Keziah, and Lisa Hooks Bowlin. Celebration of Life will be held at Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church on December 16th, 2023 at 2:00 pm with family receiving visitation immediately following the service. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Samuel Blackwell ("Sammy"), who left us on November 13, 2023, at the age of 66. He will be deeply missed by his family and those who knew him. Sammy was born on December 24, 1956, to Roosevelt and Rayphonial Blackwell in Statesville, N. C. , and was a lifelong resident of Kannapolis, NC. Though he lived a private life, he touched the hearts of many in his own unique way. He loved jazz music, guitar, photography, and the Lord. He had a vibrant personality that positively touched many people. He served 6 years in the United States Navy and was Honorably Discharged in 1981. He was a devoted member of the Church of Christ. He was born November 29, 1953, in Cabarrus County to the late Perry Lipscomb and the late Agnes Caldwell-Little Lipscomb. Stevie was educated in the Kannapolis and Rowan County Schools and was formerly employed in Textiles. Stevie served as a minister of God's Word. He made it his mission to share the Word of God with those he came in contact with. Services will be held on Sunday, December 3, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel. Ann Elizabeth "Annie" Glacken of Kannapolis, NC passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 24, 2023 after a courageous 17 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Annie is survived by her loving husband of fifty years, Greg Glacken, mother, Gloria Mueller of Wentzville, Mo, adoring children Carrie Howland (John), Timothy Glacken, Erin Pepper (Goeff Hong), Justin Glacken (Chelsea), grandchildren Gavin Pepper, Ian Pepper, Charlie Howland, Eliza Howland, Henry Howland, and one baby Glacken who is yet to arrive but who Annie was so grateful for. Annie is also survived by her three sisters, Ellen Barnett (New Memphis, IL), Jane Giannattasio (Armada, MI) and Christine Hanlon (Wentzville, MO) numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Annie is preceded in death by her father Theodore Vincent Mueller and brother John. Born on March 23, 1954, Annie was a gifted artist and teacher. She was a member of the Watercolor Society of North Carolina and taught many in person and on-line art workshops sharing her passion for watercolor painting and journaling. She was honored to have her work at the Billy Graham Library. Annie was known to walk around the chemotherapy floor handing out her paintings with scriptures to lift up and comfort her fellow cancer patients. Her faith throughout her life, diagnosis and ultimately the end was an inspiration to so many. Annie will be missed so dearly by her friends and family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother as well as a loyal friend. A celebration of life will be held at Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
