Kenneth Driscoll

Kenneth Driscoll

Age - 74

November 29, 2023

Kenneth (Ken) David Driscoll, 74, of Yarmouth Port, MA, passed away peacefully at home, on November 20, 2023, with his beloved wife of 50 years, Terry and devoted daughter Carolyn at his side. After a long brave battle with Alzheimer's, he was ushered into his next adventure whilst his favorite artists, Bob Marley, James Taylor, and Tracy Chapman, played in the background, undoubtedly declaring his life a "home run" upon his arrival. Ken was born on April 11, 1949 in Oslo, Norway to Major Ken Driscoll and Christine Driscoll. Ken was preceded in death by his son, Scott Driscoll and is survived by his faithful and loving dog, Sage, his brother Gary and his wife Francine, brother-in-law Rick and his wife Deb Ramsay, his sister-in-law Laurie Ramsay and her husband Terry McConnell, a niece, four nephews, their families, and a wonderful group of friends far and near. Upon graduation from Northeastern University in 1973 with a BS/MBA in Civil Engineering, Ken began his 40-year engineering career with ARAMCO starting in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, where he raised his family, and would spend three different assignments between engineering jobs on the East Coast and Saudi Arabia. Ken was insatiably curious and his inquisitiveness and keen intellect drove all his pursuits. He loved traveling with his family, where you would always find him with a camera around his neck. Whether he was skiing in the Alps, sailing in the Mediterranean, or convincing his wife and children that it was a good idea to go to a questionable snake farm in Thailand (the snakes had no cages), he would declare every family adventure a tremendous success and nothing short of "a home run!", a phrase he used widely and that summed up his zest and love for life. Ken cherished his time working overseas on different projects and meeting people from all over the world. He loved spending time with his friends far and wide and never missed a chance to celebrate moments, big or small, with a thugbah (the bootleg version of a Jack and Coke) or at his yearly beach fire on the Cape, where countless memories were made. Traditions that will carry on for generations. Our family is tremendously thankful for the never-ending support, guidance, education, friendship, and love from Molly Perdue, Melanie Braverman, and the entire staff at the Alzheimer's Family Support Center in Brewster, MA. We are also thankful to our wonderful caregivers, who helped make each day special for Ken with compassion and dignity, and to the fantastic staff from the VNA Hospice Team. A celebration of life will be held in July 2024 with a fire on the beach, just as Ken would have wanted it. We, his beloved friends and family, will ensure it is a "home run!" Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for Ken and the entire Driscoll Family! If you would like to donate in memory of Ken, please do so online to the Alzheimer Family Support Center or mailed to the AFSC at 2095 Main St, Brewster, MA 02631.
