Darlene M. (Lomastro) Giarrusso, 68, passed away suddenly at home Sunday, February 18, 2024. She was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Mafalda (Manzo) Berardis. Mrs. Giarrusso was a bookkeeper for various companies for over 20 years before retiring. She was a 1973 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and has lived in North Providence for 10 years. She enjoyed doing crafts, spending time at the beach and most especially she enjoyed being with her family.She is survived by her daughters, Danielle H. Giarrusso of North Providence and Dina M. Edwards and her husband Michael of Cumberland. She was the sister of Joseph Lomastro, Nancy Maher, Carol Munio and Carmen Girouard. Darlene was the grandmother of James, Gabe and Lilly Edwards. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Gathering Friday, March 1, 2024 at 6:30pm at the Santa Maria DiPrata Society, 29 Walnut Grove Ave., Cranston, RI 02920.

Robert P. Gemma Sr., (Bob) 86, of North Providence, passed away Friday February 16th, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Ann Marie (Liberatore) Gemma for 56 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Alduino and Antonetta (Belmonte) Gemma. Mr. Gemma worked for over 50 years in the banking industry. He spent 22 years working for Columbus National Bank, before becoming the Executive Vice President at Rhode Island Credit Union, where he worked for 28 years. After retiring in 2008, he continued to serve on the Board of Directors for the credit union for 14 years. Mr. Gemma took great pride in working for the credit union. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Donna Doorley and her husband Kevin, Dawn McNeil and her husband Robert, and Robert Gemma, Jr. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Diana Doorley, Hannah Doorley, Kevin Doorley, Domenic McNeil, and Abbie Gemma. He was the brother-in-law of Tony Liberatore, the brother of the late Anthony Gemma, Alfonse Gemma, Joseph Gemma, Buddy Gemma, and Annette Gemma, and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Bob enjoyed cooking, gardening, and singing, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Family was always first. He spent a lot of time hosting and organizing family gatherings, and attending sporting events and shows that his children and grandchildren were involved in. He was their biggest fan. The family would also like to acknowledge and thank the dedicated staff at Stillwater Nursing Home and Miriam Hospital for the exceptional care they provided to Bob. Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 20th from 4- 7 pm in the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence. The funeral will be held on Wednesday February 21st at 7:45 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am at Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth Street, North Providence. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.

Carmine Joseph Spinella, 92, of Sunset Avenue, North Providence passed away on February 15, 2024, He was the husband of the late Elena A. (Salvati) Spinella. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Carmelo and Francesca (Pino) Spinella. Carmine graduated from Providence College and later earned his Master’s degree from the University of Rhode Island as which he became a clinical chemist for many years before retiring. He was also the owner of Physicians Laboratory Service, Inc. and the founder of Northeast Environmental Testing Laboratory, Inc. He also served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Sons of Italy and a past member of Triggs and the Kirkbrae Country Club, where he loved playing golf. He is the loving father of Raymond A. Spinella and his wife Rosanna, Edward C. Spinella and his wife Lisa, Susan F. Skunza and her husband Luke and Joseph J. Spinella and his wife Lisa and cherished grandfather of Marc, Steven, Nicholas, Zachary, Jacob, Cory, Jack and Maya and great grandfather of Madison and Brandon. He was also the brother of the late Salvatore Spinella, Josephine Barletta, Benjamin Spinella, Anthony Spinella, Frank Spinella, Mary Pina, Rinaldo Spinella and Orlando Spinella. His visitation and funeral will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm in the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Ave, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. in the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1081 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence. Born in Harmony, a son of the late Jessie and Mary (Smith) Tucker. He had lived in Glocester his whole life. He was an Army veteran. Frank was a highway maintenance worker with the Glocester DPW before retiring. He leaves his sons, Frank Tucker, Jr. of Johnston, Richard Tucker of Dudley, MA and Raymond Tucker of Glocester. He was the grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of eight. A graveside funeral will be held on Friday February 16th at 11am in the Acotes Hill Cemetery, Chepachet. Dino N. Roberti, 77, of North Providence passed away peacefully, surrounded by his three daughters, Wednesday February 7, 2024. He was the husband of the late Carol Ann (Mercurio) Roberti. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Raffael and Adele (Sabetta) Roberti. Mr. Roberti graduated from Providence College in 1968. He worked for the Cranston School Department for over 30 years, spending the majority of his career as an Italian and Spanish Teacher at Hugh B. Bain Middle School. He later served as a Guidance Counselor at Cranston Area Career and Technical Center. He also worked at Brewster Lumber Company, Somerville Lumber and the Home Depot. Dino is survived by three daughters; Dina Ucci and husband Stephen, Keri Roberti, and Kristen Bevilacqua and husband John Bevilacqua, Jr. and was the beloved grandfather of six grandchildren; Robert Autiello II, Santino Autiello, Gianna Ucci, Stephen Buco II, Valentina Bevilacqua and John Bevilacqua III. He was the brother of Larry J. Roberti, the late Dr. Robert F. Roberti, Ralph Roberti, Ernestina Larson, and Emelio Roberti. Dino lived for his wife, girls and grandchildren. His favorite pastimes were playing golf with his friends and going on vacation with his family His funeral and visitation will be held Monday, February 12th from 7:30 a.m-9:15 a.m. at “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, North Providence.
