Memorials are suggested to Stan's family for future designation. Stan was born on November 16, 1931 at Palmer, NE eldest son of Earl and Dorothy (Suck) Conway. He was raised by his aunts in the Grand Island area and graduated from Grand Island High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy on October 16, 1950. He served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on August 10, 1954. Throughout his life he continued to support the men and women of the armed forces. Stan returned to Grand Island and completed his apprenticeship to be certified in Air conditioners. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Fisher and they were blessed with three daughters, Karen, Marsha and Linda. After Dorothy's passing, Stan married Janice Conners in 1967. He gained another daughter with this marriage, Deb. Together Stan and Janice were blessed with daughter, Shawna. Stan and his family settled in California, first in Glendora and then Oakdale. He continued employment working on air conditioners and taught apprentices at the local college. He just received his certificate from the Local Union 250 for 65 years. He was a member of Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship, and the VFW. He was a voracious reader of many subjects but always enjoyed a good Louis L'Amour western. Stan enjoyed deep sea fishing and even fishing in the smaller lakes in and around Nebraska. Always a dedicated sports fan for whatever his daughter or grandchildren were participating in. In recent years, Stan used his creative side to paint many bird houses for friends and family and even winning several ribbons at the local fair. After retiring, Stan and Janice lead a nomad life and lived for several years in their camper. He volunteered extensively at all the places they visited. He enjoyed leading tours through the Bonniville Dam, and a variety of serving food, watching the gate and just being there to help any of the other campers. Stan had a colorful sense of humor that he blessed with anyone he met. He is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Ben) Scott of Stevenson, WA, Karen Conway Elizalde of Westminster, CO, Marsha (Randy) Stratman of Grand Island and Shawna Dollar of Grand Island; grandchildren, Chris Scott, Brian Scott, Ian Stratman, Jeramiah (April) Cole, Candice Dollar and Clarissa Jackson; great-grandchildren, Riley, Madisyn, Cooper, Autumn, Finley, Zoey and Gabby; brother, Harley Conway of St. Paul, NE; and numerous extended family and friends. Stan was preceded in death by his wives, Dorothy and Janice; daughter, Linda Conway; son-in-law, Bobby Dollar; and brother, Darrell Conway. "
