Cheno Workman, 66, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on February 19, 2024. He was born in Jackson, Missouri on April 10, 1957. Cheno married his high school sweetheart on May 29th, 1976 and they started a family together. He was a man who loved his family and cared for them deeply. Cheno loved sports. Golf, bowling, and softball were a few of his favorites. He was involved with his kids sports, and was a coach for their soccer and softball teams. He worked extremely hard for many years at Southwest Paper Company, making many lifelong friends, and ensuring the family was well taken care of. He completed his accounting degree at WSU. He also worked for Boeing as an accountant, and for the past 30 years worked as an accountant for the Midian Shrine. He loved music, was a self taught guitarist, and wrote songs of his own. He was also a diehard Chiefs fan. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ila Workman, several Aunts and Uncles, as well as 2 nephews, Robert Sharp and Logan Befort. He is survived by his loving wife, Joni; sisters Kim and Cindy Workman, his son Dustin Workman, daughter Shannon Coleman and her husband Evan; grandson Alec Hughes and his wife Mariah, Granddaughters Halle Hughes and Ashlyn Palmer and 3 Great-Grandkids. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Hillside Funeral Home West, 2929 W. 13th St. N., Wichita, KS 67203. (McGovney) Cross. Carol married Duane "Skip" Freund on October 8, 1983 in Cunningham. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2006.Carol graduated from Nashville High School in 1961. She worked as a Rural Postal Carrier. She served on Pratt Area Humane Society Board. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, cross-stitching, planning the family reunions, going to garage sales, league bowling at Suburban Lanes and her dog, Brandy.She is survived by her sons, Daniel Hoffman of Arkansas and Todd Hoffman of Pratt; siblings, Kathy (Joe) Pugh of Sylvia, John (Crystal) Cross of Great Bend, Larry (Suzanne) Cross of Littleton, Colorado, David (Grace) Cross of Shorncliffe, Queensland, Australia, Susan (Steve) Parsons of Pratt, George (Sherry) Cross of Pratt and Steve (Janice) Cross of Pratt; grandchildren, Joshua Hoffman, Kristopher Hoffman, Kyle (Isabel) Hoffman, Karin (Nathan) Booty, Kendra Hoffman, Brynn (Devon Koehler) Hoffman and Kimberlyn Hoffman; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.Carol is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane "Skip" Freund; and stepson, Dwayne Hoffman.Cremation has taken place. Our Dad, Ronald Douglas Irvin was born on October 28, 2944 in Rotan, Texas to Milford Linnis Irvin and Norene Pearl Irvin. He was one of four children, a brother Thomas Charles Irvin, sisters Mary Lou Tankereley and Sue Stevens. Dad married Brenda Jowers in 1964, and to this union were two children, Troy Irvin and Ronda Irvin; four grandchildren Dustin Hrencher, Kerry Wise, Garrett Irvin and Madison Harry; great grandchildren Kyleigh Hrencher, Gage Wise, Riley Wise and Venus Hrencher, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He was preceded by his parents, brother Thomas, sister Mary Lou and granddaughter Madison.Dad did lots of cowboying and ranching to make a living in the 60's. Later in life he was a truck driver for various trucking companies and retired as a truck driver. Our family lived mostly in Sweetwater, Texas. Brady Dwayne Allensworth passed away on Saturday, February17, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas. He was born to Mary (Kelley) and Garrill Allensworth on September 17, 1964, in Quincy, Illinois. Brady was a graduate of Barry High School, Class of ‘82. He attended Eastern New Mexico University in Roswell, New Mexico graduating with an Associate of Science Degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology. Brady started his career working for Great Southwest Aviation in Roswell. He continued his aviation career working for Air Midwest and Kitty Hawk Air Cargo. In 2006, he embraced his love of motorcycling by moving to Cambodia, working as a mechanic and tour guide for Adventure Moto. Returning to the United States in 2009, Brady obtained employment with Eagle Med (air medical transportation services) working as an Aviation Maintenance Controller. He also worked part-time as an aircraft mechanic for STS Aviation Group maintaining the Boeing Large Cargo Freighter for Atlas Aerospace. As a child, “B” enjoyed life on the farm riding his go-cart, driving his motorcycles, and hunting alongside his family. One of his greatest pleasures was going to the St. Louis Airport to watch the planes take off and land. Brady continued his love of flight all throughout his life. B embraced his hobbies with unmitigated passion. He built and flew model remote-controlled airplanes. He also rode motorcycles with a group of friends traveling the United States and even to Alaska including the Arctic Circle. In the last few years, Brady and his sisters, Cheryl and Tracy, and their husbands, Ken and Donald, took summer family bike trips in Missouri and Illinois. Brady liked to regale his friends, family, and coworkers with stories of all his escapades and adventures. He will be sorely missed by many. Brady was preceded in death by his parents, Garrill and Mary Allensworth, and his infant brother, Bradley. He is survived by his siblings, Cheryl (Ken) Patterson, Tracy (Donald) DuRall, Kelly (Mike) Lundberg, Kevin (Angela) Allensworth, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great nephews and Smokey the Cat. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 27, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry, IL. Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 3:00 PM. Interment to follow at Shearer Cemetery in New Canton, IL. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry, IL is handling the arrangements.

Edward B. J. Otte, 88, Wellington resident, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas. Edward was born the son of Alfred and Louise (Zemke) Otte in Smith County, Kansas on July 28, 1935. He joined the National Guard during Vietnam. His faith was strong and church was very important to Edward. He was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church. Edward is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Julia Otte, daughter, Jane Otte. He is survived by his brother, Lee Otte of Hillsboro, Missouri and sister, Bernice Soderberg of Valrico, Florida. A private graveside service will be held at Prairie Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Calvary Lutheran Church 1300 North C Street, Wellington, Kansas 67152. Contributions can be left with the funeral home or mailed to the church. Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
