Spiro Pavlidis, a beloved husband, father, pappou, and successful business owner, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2023, in Palm Harbor, Florida. Spiro was known for his kindness, generosity, loving nature, and intelligence. There are great men in this world and then there is Spiro Pavlidis. Spiro was born on October 10, 1950, in Nea Selefkia, Greece, to parents Christos and Theodora Pavlidis. His deep love of Greek culture influenced every area of his life. In pursuit of higher education and a better life, he moved to the United States. Although he was not a native English speaker, he studied Engineering at Southeastern Massachusetts University. He later became a successful business owner and restaurateur. Spiro's love for his homeland was always evident in his work, as he incorporated elements of his Greek heritage into his business ventures. After moving to the United States, Spiro met his wife, Georgia, on a visit to Greece. They wrote letters to each other for a year before they finally became engaged, and Georgia joined him in the United States. They were married on July 3, 1977, and began to build their family and wonderful life. The love they shared was truly one that people dream of. Spiro and Georgia were blessed with the birth of three children. Spiro worked long hours in the restaurant business and made it his priority to support his family. Yet, he prioritized spending time with his children, each of whom feels they enjoyed a unique bond with their father. His interests were as diverse as they were passionate. A lover of Greek music, Spiro could often be found humming along to his favorite tunes. He also had a fondness for dancing, his feet moving in rhythm with the beats that reminded him of home. An avid soccer fan and player, he derived great joy from both playing and watching the sport. Yet, perhaps his greatest joy was found in the time he spent with his family, especially in caring for his beautiful grandchildren. Spiro is survived by his loving wife, Georgia, and their three children, Maria (Lawrence Levine), Theodora (Hugh Taylor III), and Christos. He was a doting grandfather to Lucas, Elias, and Miriam, who will remember him fondly. He is also survived by his sister, Maria Anastasopoulos, her husband Kosta and their children, Georgia and Alex. His brother George Pavlidis, his sister Ellie Tarlas, and her children Eleftheria and Eleftherios also survive him. His Aunt Paula Gourousis, Uncle Stavros Siogros, and cousins George Gourousis, Andrea Gourousis, James Idaris, Litsa Idaris Haidousis, Joyce Pepi, and Freda Koulisis, sisters-in-law Stavroula, Eleni and Barbara, will remember him as a cherished family member. Spiro's life was marked by an unwavering dedication to his family, his work, and his heritage. His kindness touched the lives of all who knew him, and his generosity extended beyond his family to the community he served. He was always on call to talk to a friend or give advice to someone who needed him. He remained a trusted confidante and mentor to his adult children, who were in constant contact with him. All those who knew him described him as one of the kindest people you could ever meet. His absence leaves a terrible void in their lives. However, his legacy will continue in the lives of his children and grandchildren, and in the memories of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but forever remembered. May Spiro Pavlidis rest in peace, knowing he lived a life full of love, success, and service. His memory will forever be a blessing to his family and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was the rock of the Pavlidis family, and he left us far too soon. There will never be another to replace him in our hearts and the love we have for him will live on forever. Thank you for being part of our life and giving us joy. "There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone the light remains. "
