It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Samuel Blackwell ("Sammy"), who left us on November 13, 2023, at the age of 66. He will be deeply missed by his family and those who knew him. Sammy was born on December 24, 1956, to Roosevelt and Rayphonial Blackwell in Statesville, N. C. , and was a lifelong resident of Kannapolis, NC. Though he lived a private life, he touched the hearts of many in his own unique way. He loved jazz music, guitar, photography, and the Lord. He had a vibrant personality that positively touched many people. He served 6 years in the United States Navy and was Honorably Discharged in 1981. He was a devoted member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by his four brothers, Reginald Blackwell, Jerry Blackwell, Scottie Blackwell, and Donald Blackwell. He joins his mother, father, and two sisters in eternal rest. Rev. Stevie Lipscomb, 69, of Linda Avenue, Kannapolis NC departed this earthly life on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Atrium Health - Cabarrus Medical Center. He was born November 29, 1953, in Cabarrus County to the late Perry Lipscomb and the late Agnes Caldwell-Little Lipscomb. Stevie was educated in the Kannapolis and Rowan County Schools and was formerly employed in Textiles. Stevie served as a minister of God's Word. He made it his mission to share the Word of God with those he came in contact with. Services will be held on Sunday, December 3, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 2:30 - 3:00 PM with funeral services at 3:00. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Lewis Lipscomb, Eric Lipscomb; and sister, Doris Little. She was born January 29, 1959, in Cabarrus County to the late Fletcher Moon, Sr. and the late Marie Cannon Moon. Cora received her education in the Kannapolis City School System. Ann Elizabeth "Annie" Glacken of Kannapolis, NC passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 24, 2023 after a courageous 17 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Annie is survived by her loving husband of fifty years, Greg Glacken, mother, Gloria Mueller of Wentzville, Mo, adoring children Carrie Howland (John), Timothy Glacken, Erin Pepper (Goeff Hong), Justin Glacken (Chelsea), grandchildren Gavin Pepper, Ian Pepper, Charlie Howland, Eliza Howland, Henry Howland, and one baby Glacken who is yet to arrive but who Annie was so grateful for. Annie is also survived by her three sisters, Ellen Barnett (New Memphis, IL), Jane Giannattasio (Armada, MI) and Christine Hanlon (Wentzville, MO) numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Annie is preceded in death by her father Theodore Vincent Mueller and brother John. Born on March 23, 1954, Annie was a gifted artist and teacher. She was a member of the Watercolor Society of North Carolina and taught many in person and on-line art workshops sharing her passion for watercolor painting and journaling. She was honored to have her work at the Billy Graham Library. Annie was known to walk around the chemotherapy floor handing out her paintings with scriptures to lift up and comfort her fellow cancer patients. Her faith throughout her life, diagnosis and ultimately the end was an inspiration to so many. Annie will be missed so dearly by her friends and family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother as well as a loyal friend. A celebration of life will be held at Hickory Grove Baptist Church. "In Loving Memory of Jeanette Teresa Arndt November 12, 1939 - November 20, 2023 At 84 years of age, Jeanette Teresa Arndt peacefully departed this world to join her beloved spouse, Rolf Arndt, who had gone ahead. She is survived by her loving children: Edward Arndt (spouse Jenny Ahlin) and Lisa Arndt Albinus, (spouse David Albinus). Cherished grandmother of Kimberley, Ryan, Hannah-Rose, and Quinn Albinus. She leaves behind her sisters Carol LaPaglia (spouse Mike, children: Michael, Matthew, Timothy and Jane) and Margaret Gurgone (spouse Jim, children: Dennis, Greg, Jimmy and Danny). Jeanette was a remarkable woman with a philanthropic nature, who faced life\u0027s challenges with unwavering strength and grace. A two-time breast cancer and stroke survivor, she became a beacon of hope, integrity, and power for all to recognize her ability to laugh at limitations. Jeanette met you for the first time as a stranger and left you as a friend. Her benevolence was expressed in many ways: as a volunteer through Guardian Ad Litem, as a Eucharistic Minister serving the homebound, and most recently, a receptionist at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. As we remember Jeanette, let us reflect on the words of Henry Van Dyke: \u0026quot;Gone From My Sight\u0026quot; What is dying. I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side, spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then, someone at my side says, \u0026quot;There, she is gone. \u0026quot; Gone where? Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull, and spar as she was when she left my side.
