Gregory Pegues Jr. "Boo", 39, of Dallas, TX, transitioned on Thursday, November 16, 2023, The William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital. Mr. Gregory (Boo) Pegues, Jr. , was born November 23, 1983, in Memphis, TN to Eva Jean (Ambrose) and Gregory Pegues. Greg confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Lamar, MS, and later attended church in the Dallas area. Greg attended H. W. Byers/Sand Flat Attendance Center, Holly Springs Intermediate & Junior High, and graduated from Ashland High School in 2002. He later attended Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis, TN. After moving to Dallas, TX, he studied Nursing at Tarrant County College, and studied Business at University of Phoenix. Gregory was employed at UT Southwestern as an Insurance Specialist. Greg was a cherished son, brother, and friend who touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His warmth, kindness, and infectious laughter illuminated every room he entered, creating a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to share in his company. Family meant everything to Greg. His devotion to his loved ones was evident in the countless cherished moments he shared with sister, parents, nephews, and extended family. On Thursday, November 16, 2023, a week before his 40th birthday, his Maker saw that he was tired and weary and called him home. He sent an angel to tell Boo to come on home and take his rest. Boo leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Eva (Miller) Corbett and Gregory (Gloria) Pegues Sr. ; sister, Unikka Pegues McCaster, whom he affectionately called "Big Sis"; grandmother, Eva Ambrose; nephews, Marcus McCaster Jr. and Thomas McCaster. Also mourning his passing are aunts Anita Pegues and Bonnie Malone; uncles Willam (Betty) Pegues, Michael Pegues, Lorenzo (Diane) Ambrose, Eddie B. (Latoya) Ambrose Jr. , Stanley (Elizabeth) Ambrose, Michael (Kimberly) Ambrose, Bruce (Novella) Ambrose; 4 step-siblings; and a host of cousins. His Grandparents, James Russell Adair, Thelma Pegues Shepard, Eddie B. Ambrose, and a close Uncle Carl (Ruby) Ambrose, all proceeded him in death. In addition to his immediate family, Greg formed deep and lasting connections with friends who became like family. His loyalty and camaraderie enriched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to call him a friend. As we mourn the loss of Greg, let us remember and celebrate the beautiful soul he was. In our grief, let us find solace in the memories we shared, the laughter that echoed through the years, and the love that will endure beyond the limits of time. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, 5:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. , and Service will be Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11:00 a. m. , at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 N. Memphis St. , Holly Springs, MS 38635. Burial will take place at Foundation of Life Cemetery, Lamar, MS. Arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home of Holly Springs, MS.
