"James Emmett Lockman May 13, 1938 - November 6, 2023 James \u0026quot;Jim\u0026quot; Emmett Lockman passed away unexpectedly at his home in Toledo, Oregon on Monday November 6, 2023. He was born May 13, 1938 in Eugene, Oregon to Leo Vincent \u0026quot;Sundown\u0026quot; Lockman and Flora \u0026quot;Eva\u0026quot; (Louk) Lockman. Jim attended various schools when he was younger as his father was a road construction supervisor which required some relocating. He graduated from Corvallis High School in Corvallis, Oregon in 1956 after playing varsity football. He then served in the U. S. Navy for four year after learning skills as a radioman. He was honorably discharged in 1960 and soon hired on the paper machines at Georgia- Pacific Corp. in Toledo. He married Charlene M. Ross on April 8, 1961 at All Nations Lutheran Church in Newport, Oregon and were married 62 years. Jim was an active Local Union #13 member for many years. He worked various positions ending up as a supervisor when he retired after 39 years at G-P. Jim was very active socially and was a long-time member of the Toledo Elks lodge, B. P. O. E. #1664 and relaxed often there with many good friends. When it came to sports or outdoor activities, he had varied interests, some of which were several types of hunting, splitting wood, fishing, crabbing, motorcycle riding, golfing (awarded a \u0026quot;hole-in-one\u0026quot; certificate), and also coached Little League Sports for several years. Our family spent a lot of time in the summer at our place at Three-Rivers Recreation Area on Lake Billy Chinook. There, Jim spent a lot of time boating and riding quads with family and friends. His long0time favorite thing has always been football and he and family went to Beaver games in Hawaii and Arizona. He rarely missed a game on T. V. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and \u0026quot;Eva\u0026quot; Lockman. Jim is survived by his wife, Charlene; son Monte V. Lockman; daughter, April M. (Arne) Ferguson; grandsons, Logan J-R Ferguson; Brooks Arne Ferguson; sister, Jackie (Ken) Archibald, and many extended family members and friends. There will be no services at Jim\u0027s request. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Carol Sue Andrade (Nana), 79 of Toledo, OR on July 6, 2023. Carol was born to Dora E. Wilkinson and Clarence W. Dunham in Merced, CA September 9, 1943. Most of her life she lived in Toledo, OR area. For the last 10 years Carol resided in Klamath Falls, OR. One of Carol's many joys was spending time & volunteering at Klamath Falls Senior Center, where she met and made some amazing friends. Carol enjoyed playing board games, watching Hallmark movies, and most of all-loved being surrounded by her grandchildren and loved ones. Carol had the kindest smile and softest heart, many people cherished her as a friend. She spent her last 5 months at Pelican Point Assisted Living, where new friends became family. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Dora E Wilkinson and Clarence W. Dunham, her late husband Robert Andrade and brother David Dunham. Carol is survived by her children, Irene Marcotte, Steven Andrew Strength, Beth Williams, and Kristy Williams. Son in laws, Albert Garrett, Scott Marcotte, and Jason Blofsky. Daughter-in-law Laquanna Stone Garrett. Grandchildren- Loretta May, Little Albert Garrett, Leeanna Garrett, Lora Garrett, April Strength, Daniel Trevino, Audum Bell, Travis Bell, Kenneth Garrett, Kimmie Stone, Lee Garrett. In Loving MemoryArline Gwen (Parry) McKayApril 21, 1931 ~ March 27, 2023 Born to parents Glen D. Parry and Evelyn L. (Payne) Parry, she joined her older sister, Doris, growing up on the Yaquina River just outside of Toledo, Oregon. Arline graduated from Toledo High School in 1949 and went to work at Snyders Market. She soon caught the eye of Bill back at the butcher counter and their love story began. Arline married her best friend and partner Bill McKay in 1963. They enjoyed many adventures traveling to Gallatin River in Montana, New Orleans for Mardi Gras, and riding mules into the Grand Canyon to name a few. Bill passed away in 2006 after a wonderful 43 years together. In 1951 Arline began working for the J. C. Penney Co. and soon moved up the ranks to become only the 7th female store manager when she moved to Willits, CA in 1975. In 1977 she was transferred to Colville, WA where she managed the store on Main Street until her retirement in She made many lifelong friends in her 40 years with JC Penney, keeping in touch and traveling to visit them in the Tucson, AZ area after retiring. Arline loved dogs and horses, learning to ride in her 60's. She had wonderful friendships and was active in the community. She continued to travel and especially enjoyed a trip to Nome, Alaska to see the Iditarod dog sled race. As she would say, Life is not a journey with the intention of living safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but to skid in broadside, used up, worn out and loudly proclaiming "Wow What a ride!"Arline was preceded in death by her parents Glen & Evelyn Parry, her sister Doris Henderson and her husband Bill McKay. She is survived by her sister Margaret Epperson of Toledo, OR and many nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of life on April 6, 2023 at The HUB in Colville, WA from 3:00-4:30pm, Tea and Desert will be served, and on April 16, 2023 at the ELKS Lodge in Toledo, OR from 11:30am -2:30pm a Potluck lunch with salad and desert. Obituary Lanny Steven Huguley, 64, of Toledo, OR. passed away surrounded by the love of his family after a brief battle with liver cancer, June 16, 2021. Steve was the 6th child of nine born to James and Frances Huguley, on Sept 4, 1956. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Jackie, Donna, Jimmy, and niece Misty. He is survived by brothers David, Paul (Karen), Dennis, and sisters Susan (Guy), Sydnie (Bob), and sister-in-law Gloria. As well as former wife Sheila and the ENTIRE Schaff family. He was favorite uncle to 15 nieces and nephews, 36 great nieces and nephews, and 5 great, great nieces and nephews. Steve is also survived by several lifelong friends that were treasured as his brutha's and sista's. And of course, his little dog, Tucker. Steve grew up in Newport, graduating from Newport High in 1976, and lived in the Newport / Toledo area most of his adult life. He spent his early years working in the woods tree planting and logging. He was very meticulous about his life and things, having the hardworking ethic, in true Huguley fashion. He started his commercial fishing career in the early 80's off the Oregon coast, also fishing in the Bering sea, Ak. In the early 2000's Steve took up carpentry and spent several years building in the Portland/Vancouver area. He has spent the last nine years fishing out of Kodiak. Ak, as well as Akutan, Ak. He came home in the spring of 2020 looking forward to retirement and was able to finally spend the summer at home. To know Steve was to love him. He was a people person and befriended every person he met. He was kind, caring and generous to a fault. It brought him joy to give gifts like sweatshirts, mugs, magnets, etc. he'd bring back from Alaska. He would generously give fish he shipped home to those he knew didn't always have access to fresh seafood. He loved playing Santa and spoiled all his nieces and nephews at Christmas time. He was a tease, and made others laugh, with a sense of humor like no other. He was excellent at 'stirring the pot'. Steve was a caretaker by nature, being by the side of his mother, father and brother when they were passing. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand and would be there for you. Whether it was a ride, building or fixing something, moving or financially helping you get through a rough spot. With his passing, we all are experiencing a huge whole in our hearts, all the while, he is now the life of the party in heaven.
