Ross Alfred Murphy, husband of the late Betty Jean Murphy (nee Seibert); beloved father of Kathleen, Christopher (Daniel Kagan), & Carolyn Murphy; also survived by several nieces and & nephews. Passed away March 2, 2024. Ross was married to his wife & sweetheart Betty, for 63 years. He was a graduate of the University of The State of New York & Chase College of Law (1990). He was also a member of the Ohio State Bar & practiced law for 18 yrs, until retirement in 2008. Ross was also a licensed professional Engineer registered in both Ohio & Kentucky. He served proudly as a U.S. Marine Sargent during WWII & the Korean War. He was also a member of the 5th Marine Division, participated in the Battle of Iwo Jima & the post-war occupation of Nagasaki, Japan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thurs. March 7, 2024, at St. John Fisher Church, 3227 Church St., Newtown, OH, at 10:30am. Friends may visit the church on Thurs. from 9:30am-10:30am. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

John “Jack” C. Mosteller, 92, passed away on Saturday March 2nd, 2024. Jack is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Shirley A. Mosteller as well as their oldest son, Mark Mosteller, granddaughter, Amanda Chowning, and oldest son-in-law, Steve Chowning. Jack is survived by children, Terry Mosteller (husband to Carol), Lori Chowning, Brian Mosteller (husband to Hayley), and Melissa Mosteller (wife to David Sedivy). In addition, Jack is survived by his 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Jack grew up in Reading, Ohio, and was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran, where he served as a cryptographer during the Korean War. In keeping in line with his commitment to service, Jack also worked as a volunteer firefighter in Miami Township/Clermont County, a volunteer program which he himself helped create. Jack also worked at SOHIO for a number of years. Jack and Shirley were parishioners at St. Andrews Church in Milford Ohio, where they generously pledged and donated funds to help other parishioners build the gym many years ago. They were also long-time members of the Miami Hills Swim Club.Visitation will be 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM on Monday, March 11th, 2024, at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 10211 Plainfield Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45241. Nancy is survived by her loving children; Stepson, Brent Roy, Raymond Roy, daughter-in-law Marsha Roy, Brenda (Joe) Brizzolara, and Michael (Lynn) Roy. Sister to Jack (Darane) Richardson and sister-in-law to Aleene Richardson. Adoring grandmother of Brandon, Jeremy, and Niki Roy. Todd (Rebecca) Roy. Aaron, and Bamby Roy. Andrew Brizzolara. Carl Beckstedt

Beloved husband of 60 years to the late Joyce Traylor Beckstedt. He was a tirelessly devoted father to his children Dan (Maria) Beckstedt, Dianna Erickson, Timothy Beckstedt and Bihl (Terry Bowdell) Beckstedt; adored grandfather of 12 grandchildren Jennifer Erickson, Marie (Tommy) Davenport, Kelly (Allen) Rowe, Kimberly (Antonio Magana) Beckstedt, Kelsey Beckstedt, Katie (Kevin) Murray, Matthew Beckstedt, Evan (Erin) Beckstedt, TJ Beckstedt, Carl Beckstedt, David Beckstedt and Emma Beckstedt; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Florence Janning Beckstedt and his seven siblings. Carl served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War, stationed in Germany. He obtained degrees in Accounting and Economics from Xavier University. In 1960, he was hired by John Shillito, original co-founder of Federated Department Stores (now Macy’s Inc), and had a long, prosperous career retiring in 1989. In his spare time, Carl could be found coaching his children’s sports, bowling with his Norwood buddies, or on a golf course as, aside from his family, golf was a life passion. He proudly both bowled a perfect 700 game and obtained a hole-in-one in golf. He was a devoted Catholic and volunteer and Deacon at both St Dominic and St Vincent de Paul churches. In life, Carl was a kind, calm, loving man. Carl always gave what he could and put others before his own needs as a caretaker as a son, a brother, a father, a friend. He lived. He loved. He golfed. Carl passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024 at age 94. Memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Richard C. Peterson

Richard “Dick” C. Peterson passed away peacefully on March 3, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born to Arthur and Darrell Hews Peterson on Dec 1, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up in Toledo, Ohio where his love of golf began as he excelled on the DeVilbiss High School golf team. He continued his studies and golfing at Cornell University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering. He further pursued his education at the University of Cincinnati where he received his master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering. For the greater part of his career, Dick worked at GE Aviation with their French partner SNECMA on the design and development of the best selling engine in the history of aviation which is displayed in the Smithsonian. Dick was an accomplished golfer winning many local golf tournaments, including the Cincinnati Enquirer Tournament of Champions three times. He qualified to play in the U.S. Amateur five times and was honored as a Cincinnati Legend of Golf. He served as the president of Kenwood Country Club where he held the course record for years, until its redesign. Although his golf accomplishments were many, his children’s favorite win was the Dr Pepper Open, which entitled his family to a year’s supply of Dr Pepper. Dick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Bonnie Naberhaus Peterson; and his children, Christopher Hews Peterson (Kathy) and Holly Peterson Goodyear (Benjamin). He is cherished and remembered by his four grandchildren, Hanna Peterson, Kelsey Peterson, Tate Goodyear and Evelyn Goodyear Kellar (Paul). Those of us who knew Dick were fortunate to be touched by his kind and generous nature. Dick cared for those less fortunate, serving for decades as a volunteer for Tender Mercies and St. Vincent de Paul. Visitation will be Friday, March 8 at Bellarmine Chapel at Xavier University, 3801 Francis Xavier Way, Cincinnati, OH from 9:00-10:00 am followed by a memorial mass. The burial will immediately follow at Gate of Heaven cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati OH. There will be a reception at Kenwood Country Club from 1:00-3:00 pm. With a keen eye for bargains, she adored shopping and always relished a good deal. This stylish matriarch took pride in her well-matched ensembles, right down to coordinating her shoes and purses. Marjorie's tender heart extended to her affection for animals, particularly her dachshunds and beloved feline companions, Fluffy and Smokey. She cherished moments spent with her family, engaging actively in her children's activities, like Girl Scouts, and enjoying spa days with her loved ones. An advocate for good food and cherished conversations, she loved to share a meal and her warmth with all she met, as she never met a stranger. Marjorie was a beloved wife of 52 years to the late Walter Weightman. She is survived by her loving family, including her children Jeff Weightman, Vickie (Joseph Jr.) Neugebauer, Cheryl Grimes, and Mike (Amy) Weightman, along with her adored grandchildren Stephanie (Eric) Lariccia, Greg Neugebauer, Tara (Zach) Grimes, Shelbie (James) Dunlap, Austin Weightman, and Chrissy (Randy) Norris and great-grandchildren Dylan Lariccia, Kylie Lariccia, Anna Norris and Isabel Norris. Donald Segar, III, age 31 of Georgetown, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a supervisor for Spectrum, musician, artist, hard worker, family man who provided for his family and would take care of anyone and had a very special relationship with his nephews. Donald was born March 5, 1992 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of Susan (Cockrell) Edens of Mt. Orab, Ohio and Donald Segar, Jr of Cincinnati, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents – Edward and Kathleen Cockrell and paternal grandparents – Donald and Ella Segar. In addition to his parents, Mr. Segar is survived by his fiancée – Aislynn Aleshire of Georgetown, Ohio; one daughter – Charlotte Segar of Georgetown, Ohio ; one sister – Amber Bachman of Milford, Ohio; two nephews – Logan Rhodes of Milford, Ohio and Gavin Falgner of Lynchburg, Ohio and many friends and family.
