Mrs. Shirley Flanders McCary, 80, of North Augusta, SC, entered into rest on Thursday, February 14, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph McCary, siblings: W.C. Flanders Jr, Vertie Coleman, Myrtle Busch, Eva Roberts, Gertrude Brett, Johnnie Mae Lindsey, Buster Flanders, and Nellie Flanders and a grandson, Nolan Ryan Ford. Mrs. McCary was born in Langley, SC to the late William Canny and Leona Durden Flanders. She retired from Kimberly Clark. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church, Gloverville, SC. She loved to travel, dance- especially at the Carolina Jamboree but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all of her children. Surviving are four children: Belinda Wallace (the late William), of Columbia, SC, Valerie Young (Mick), of McKinney, Texas, Jamie Turner (Kathy) and Mary Williams (Freddie), all of North Augusta, SC; a sister, Wilma Wilson, of Bath, SC; her friend and the father of her children, James R. Turner, of North Augusta; grandchildren: Jason Ford, Chelsea Covington, April Turner, Adam Turner, Kourtney Tullos, Kenneth Tullos, III and Leslie Tullos; great-grandchildren: Keagan Covington, expected twins, Kealy and Kayson Covington, Trenton Williams, Jordan Tullos and Alanna Tullos and her special companion, her dog Mitzi. The family will greet friends Sunday beginning at 1 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC and A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2 o'clock in the chapel with Rev. Brad Royal officiating. Interment will follow at 3:30 pm in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Edgefield, SC. Pallbearers will be Jason Ford, Kenneth Tullos, Michael Sherman, Adam Turner, Christopher Rodgers, and Daniel Rodgers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Williams and Raymond Stroud.
