On February 29, 2024, 90 years and 1 day later, Wardell became absent from his earthly body to be present with the Lord and reunite with the Love of his Life, Eartha Mae Myrick, who gained her Heavenly Wings just a short time ago in 2022.Wardell was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from East High School, he enlisted in the US Army and served proudly for several years. Upon returning home from active duty, he worked in the service industry and was a faithful employee at White Westinghouse, Ohio Department of Education, and finally retiring from The Batelle Research Institute.Wardell was a lifelong resident of Columbus Ohio until he and Eartha relocated to Richmond, Virginia to reside and be cared for by their daughter, Shari Hicks and her husband, Roger. After the passing of his dear wife Eartha, Wardell spent the majority of his days with his son-in-law, Roger, who was also his full-time caregiver, Best Friend and most assuredly his “HYPE-MAN”.
