Shirley had worked as a receptionist at a dental office before retirement. She was a member of St. Matthew Church, Belleville, IL and had been a volunteer at St. Paul's Senior Community for 30 years. Shirley loved to garden, sew, and visit friends and family. She often brought along a favorite dish or dessert for them to enjoy. She was preceded in death by a two sons, Jeffrey Holcomb and Dennis Holcomb; her parents, Eugene and Helen, nee Mohr, Sauer Dahm; and a sister, Evelyn Oesterle. Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca (Bernie) Taylor; 3 grandchildren, Holly (Kevin) Redemann, Stephen (Laura) Mosher, and Terrence (Yuliza) Mosher; great-grandchildren; Alyssa Redemann, Daniel Mosher, and Emily Mosher; and two nephews, Kevin (Jean Ellen) Oesterle and Keith (Carolyn) Oesterle. "Bob" Sadowski, 89, of Belleville, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, in Lebanon, IL. He was born on July 19, 1934, in Edgerton, WI, to Andrew and Juanita (nee Bryant) Sadowski. On April 17, 1982, he married the love of his life, Dolores Zappavigna. Bob grew up in Edgerton, WI, and spent summers with his cousins in Salem, IL. He graduated high school in 1952 and served four years in the United States Air Force. After his service, Bob returned to Edgerton to work as a mail carrier, then moved to Chicago, IL, where he worked with Crooks Public Terminal Warehouse, Time Magazine, and then 44 years with Reynolds Fasteners, which later became Heads and Threads. As a member of the Streamwood, IL, community, Bob was an active member of his church where he volunteered to give communion to the homebound and nursing home residents. He and Dolores always loved watching their grandchildren play sports. In 2009, they moved to Belleville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Juanita Sadowski; sister, Barbara Marsh; sister-in-law, Marcella Sadowski. She was born Patricia Ann Papillion in Hendersonville, North Carolina on 30 April 1965 to Albert J. Pappillion and Margret Ruth (Baldwin) Papillion, and they were waiting to receive Her. She is Survived by her Loving Husband of 13 Years Michael (Mike) Edwards Sr. , her older Brother Aarron (AJ) Papillion who was with her to the end and fulfilling his obligation to his parents to look after her and showing amazing support. He will always be my brother. Patricia was a Matriarch to 5 Children and to 3 stepchildren, Michael Edwards Jr. and Christine, Nicole (Edwards) Larsen and Damien, Jeffery Edwards and Bonnie, Rebecca Reitmeyer and Brian, and Kevin Edwards and Paul Bunch, Christina (Nail) Hansen and Cliff, Michael Nail. And Cindy Montgomery and Troy. As well as 5 grandchildren Hope Capps, Dylan Edwards, Bailey Edwards, Faith Capps, and Zachary Reitmeyer. And one great grandchild Leland Matthew Edwards II. Patricia has worked in several fields throughout her life she had a love for animals and woodwork and was amazing with both. We were together 24/7 we never fought and never fell out of Love. She was compassionate and always willing to help someone in need. Caring for Patricia was the highest honor and privilege of my life she was always sweet and never cross even in some of her darkest moments of our battle. Events unfolded the way she hoped it would. Our hearts are full of Joy we ask that you share the love of this event by not being sad for us. A verse from 2 Timothy 4:7 - I have fought the good fight I have finished the race, and I kept the faith. Patricia went on her terms not cancer's she never ost her Faith or her spirit - Check Mate Cancer! The Love and support have been tremendous. I want Thank the 3 Cousins as they became to be known as, Cindy Crawford, Jane Hathaway and Tiffany Jameson, Your Visits meant the world to her, and Cindy and her Husband made sure Patricia was able to see her beloved Blue Ridge Mountains one last time. There are some other members of our (adopted) family I would like to acknowledge Kyle and Laura Kombrink mere words cannot express my gratitude you were in the trenches with us right from the get-go. I Love you guys, Jamie and Perry Luna and their 2 kids, Nathen and Jayden. Dick is remembered as a proud father to four children, as someone who enjoyed treating his family to beach and camping vacations, as a great cook - especially his clam chowder, his margarita recipes, and as someone who introduced his sense of humor to everyone he met. Dick graduated from The University of Illinois and served in the United States Army before his career in Public Relations at Union Electric. He enjoyed his retirement fishing and relaxing in Bonita Springs, FL, where he met his future companion, Barb Ford. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, his beautiful daughter, Lynne Bedwell; and his cowboy hat wearing big brother, Thomas McAleenan. Surviving are his children, Kevin McAleenan, Mike McAleenan, and Kathleen McAleenan; nine grandchildren, James Bedwell IV, Samantha Hernandez, Ciara Sampson, Sean McAleenan, Evan McAleenan, Kylie McAleenan, Liam McAleenan, Ella McAleenan and Ben Wissehr; his great-grandchildren; and his son-in-law, James Bedwell. Cody J. Thompson, age 34, of Belleville, IL, born on June 20, 1989, in Belleville, IL, died on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL. Cody was a graduate of Belleville West High School and worked as a stagehand and rigger for IATSE Local 6 Stagehands in St. Louis, MO. On his days off from Stagehands, Cody worked as a laborer with Wiegand Hauling in Belleville, IL. Cody truly took pride in his work as he himself was a music lover of several genres. He loved attending concerts whether he was working behind the scenes in the rafters or simply enjoying the show in the crowd with his friends or even with his little sister, Kylie. Often, his family joked about how he was born 30 years too late as his favorite artists/bands included the Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, the Doobie Brothers, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Warren Haynes, Bob Weir, Sturgill Simpson, and Tom Petty. Cody's hobbies included bike riding and he loved to do so with his closest friends, Craig, Mike, and Davey. He knew and crossed many trails whether it was a 40 mile ride or even completing a weekend warrior ride down the Katy Trail. Cody was also a collector of many things, one in particular was Pokemon Cards. This love and passion was shared between him and his baby sister, Vannah. During his time here, it was no secret how much he loved his family. He never shied away from expressing his love either. Cody was the person who would give random gifts to his momma and sisters "just because". His heart was so big that even in his death, he gave the gift of life to those in need. The day he passed, he saved many lives through organ and tissue donation. He was preceded in death by his sister, Misty Starr Chaney; his great grandfather, Michael Astuto; his grandmother, Paula "Dolly" Astuto; his grandparents, Raymond and Doris Megl; his aunt, Maryann Miller; many other aunts and uncles; and his best friend, Shadow. Cody is survived by his mother, Angela Pennington; his father, James M. (Margi) Pennington, Jr. ; his siblings, James "Jimmy" M. He retired from the logistics and procurement department at Boeing, after 32 years. Donald loved to boat, camp, and keep his yard perfect. He also had an appreciation for classic cars. Donald especially loved to travel, with his wife, to visit all his kids' and grandkids' colleges and universities around the United States. He was an avid sports fan of baseball or whichever sport his grandkids were playing at the time. In his youth, he was also a member of the St. Clair Greater County league baseball team. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Irene M. , nee Behrmann, Rutter; two brothers, Norman Rutter and Henry "Harry" Rutter; and a sister-in-law, Helen Heintz. Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years, Shirley Mae Rutter, nee Heintz, whom he married on May 30, 1958; three children, Barb J. (Enrico) Bertucci, Roslyn M. (Shawn) Corcoran, and Kenneth S.
