Funeral services for Shirley Jean Franklin, 68 of Giddings, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a. m. on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings with Brother Asberry Mitchell Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Giddings City Cemetery in Giddings. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 10:30 a. m. until 8:00 p. m. and on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 7:00 a. m. until 10:00 a. m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Thursday evening from 5:00 p. m. until 7:00 p. m. Shirley Jean Franklin was born into this world on May 2, 1954 in Floydada, Texas. She was the loving daughter of Asberry Mitchell Sr. and Vera (Johnson) Mitchell. She obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ and was baptized at Floydada Church of Christ. Jean was united in holy matrimony to Eugene Franklin on June 25, 2007 in Giddings, Texas. Shirley and Eugene were blessed with almost 15 years of marriage.
