"Shirley Carolyn Coyner passed away April 19, 2023, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, at the age of 95. She was born on March 30, 1928, to her parents Guy and Carolyn Stephens in Bartlesville, OK. In 1955, Shirley met her husband, Herbert Neil Coyner, and in 1956, they entered into marriage. Shirley attended Oklahoma Baptist University where she began studying nursing and later transferred to Oklahoma University where she completed her nursing degree. She went on to work as an occupational health nurse for over 50 years at ConocoPhillips. In 2008, she earned the Profile of Excellence Award from Oklahoma Baptist University. Along with working as a nurse, Shirley was also a licensed pilot and an avid tourist and volunteer. She travelled internationally to Venezuela on a mission trip where she used her nursing skills to weigh babies, take blood pressure, and perform other tests. She is also a member of the Baptist Nursing Fellowship and the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses. Shirley loved and sacrificed for her family and was known by many as "Aunt Shirley". She served God with all her heart and was active in her church and in missions. She never had children of her own but loved and was loved by many children. Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Stevens; sister, Marjorie Edwards; niece, Nancy Taylor; and nephew, Steven Edwards. Shirley is survived by her niece, Cheryl Salerno of the home; nephew, Charles Edwards and wife Dede of Nowata; great nieces, Sarah Moore and family, Christie Dushel and family, Melissa Williams and family, Misty Ward and family, Britney Colson and family, and Tara Edwards and family; great nephews, Chris Salerno, Victor Taylor and family, Dustin Taylor and Family, and David Edwards; and many other great-great nieces and nephews. The visitation will be held Monday, April 24, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 25, at 10:00 AM at Truth Church in Bartlesville. "
