Marcus Weber

Dec 05, 1932 - Feb 24, 2024

location-icon

Cleveland, OH

Marcus "Mark" Weber, age 91, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024.Beloved husband of 62 years to Mary Lou (nee Kriesen); devoted father of Mark, Daniel, Paul (Jenny), Maria, and Phillip (Angela); loving grandfather of Marcus, Maxwell, Mitchell, Maya, Dan, Cassandra (Jacob), Gretchen, Ben (Katie), Katelyn (Blake), Kyle (Heidi), Kevin (Gia) and Kallie; dearest great-grandfather of Johannes, Iris, Kade, and soon to be born, Mara; cherished son of the late William J. and Clara (nee DeCrane) Weber; dear brother of Colletta Kissling, William (deceased), Marilyn (deceased), and Rosemarie Slaght; and uncle of numerous nieces and nephews.Mark was a proud graduate of St. Ignatius, Class of '51. Mark met his wife Mary Lou at the Catholic single organization Cayoma Club where they met lifelong friends and performed in the plays the club produced. They went on to marry and enjoyed over sixty years of marriage. Some of their most treasured times were when they lived on Woodbury Hills Dr., where they and their children shared a close sense of community and friendship with their neighbors.Mark worked as a manager of structural engineering for Osborn Engineering for over 47 years. Among his numerous projects in the Cleveland area were the Browns Stadium and Progressive Field, but the one his family treasures most is the Metroparks arch bridge near Fairview Hospital. Their father took them to the work site many times during it's construction, building memories with his children as he worked on the building of the bridge.Mark was a devoted member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish for over 50 years, where he had filled several roles over the years, but his most well-known and beloved role was as a member of the church's choir. He truly had a deep love of music and was an avid "shower singer"!Mark had always enjoyed being active. He loved to play golf and fish. He and Mary Lou had traveled extensively, especially with members of their family. He was a loyal Browns fan and season ticket holder who enjoyed the tailgate parties as much as games. He was always at the heart of any gathering, and in recent years, there was nothing he enjoyed more than outings with his family! He also notoriously relished the simpler things like cashews, pecan sandies, and any kind of chocolate! He was known for his dry sense of humor and sharp wit. However, his family remembers him best as a true seeker of knowledge, who was well-read and a lifelong learner. He believed there was nothing you couldn't do and he never hesitated to learn the skills so he could do something himself. He radiated that attitude and passed it on to all of his children!Memorial contributions may be made in Mark's name to St. Augustine Church, 2486 W. 14th St., Cleveland, OH 44113 or online at https://www.staugustinecleveland.org/.Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 6750 State Rd., Parma, OH 44134. Cremation by Busch Crematory. Private interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Busch Funeral Home, 7501 Ridge Rd., Parma, OH 44129.440-842-7800 www.buschcares.com

Toni J. Burks

Jun 06, 1946 - Feb 25, 2024

location-icon

Cleveland, OH

Toni J. Burks, age 77, of Cleveland, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024. Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free I’m following the path God has laid you see. I took His hand when I heard him call I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way I found that peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Oh yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I savored much Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and peace to thee God wanted me now; He set me free.
