Shirley Marie Braglia (nee Sinwelski)Age 64, of New Lenox passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 10, 2023. Shirley was born in Chicago to the late John and Dolores (nee Smith) Sinwelski. Beloved wife of David Braglia; loving mother of Jason (Alyson) Braglia, Nicholas (Jenelle) Braglia, and Valerie (Ben) Hausser; proud grandmother of Harper Braglia, Wesley Braglia, Leona Braglia, Quinn Braglia, Jackson Hausser, Reese Braglia, and Olivia Hausser; dear sister of Patricia (Robert) Nickrent and the late Jack Sinwelski; loved aunt, cousin, and friend of many. Shirley was retired Director of Recreation of the New Lenox Community Park District. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Shirley loved gardening and spending time in Wisconsin and Florida with her family and friends. Donations to the American Cancer Society in Shirley's name would be appreciated. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 3pm - 8pm. Funeral Services Thursday, September 14, 2023, with prayers at the funeral home at 12:45pm then to St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox, IL for Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30pm. John R. Keigher, age 76, of Frankfort, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary (nee Morrical) Keigher, son John "Jay" (Natalie) Keigher of Orland Park, grandson Thomas Keigher, brother Roger (Janet) Keigher and sisters Joan (Dennis) Hall, Jean (Richard) Boland and Patti (Chester) Kirk and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Ambrose and Adele (nee Dorais) Keigher, his parents-in-law Merl and Alma Morrical, brothers-in-law Kenneth and Gerald Morrical and his sister-in-law Bonnie Lavoie. John attended St. Joseph's Academy in Manteno, Bishop McNamara High School, Kankakee, Joliet Junior College, Joliet and Lewis University, Romeoville. John also served his country with the United States Army. John was an accomplished project manager. He held licensed patents on processed water treatment and co-authored two professional publications. John was employed with Unilever for 23 years. He was a partner and founder of Tri State Enterprises for 19 years. Upon his retirement, he engaged in his first love, farming, with his brother Roger and finally retired in 2022. John also liked to travel and he enjoyed a Euchre game every now and then. Visitation for John will take place on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 2-7:00 P. M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place the following day, Saturday, November 18, 2023 beginning with prayers at 9:30 A. M. at the funeral home followed by procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 235 W. North St. , Manhattan for 10:00 A. M. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will take place at All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais immediately following Mass. Don was born in Chicago, IL to the late Marvin and Cecile (nee Houde) Benkendorf. Beloved husband of Wanda (nee Carney) Benkendorf; loving father of Donald (Cathleen) Benkendorf Jr. and Carin (Tod) Kamleiter; cherished grandfather of Andrew (Nancy Trombley) Marquardt, Donald Benkendorf III, Jeffery Benkendorf, and Alison (Jacob Wolf) Marquardt; dear brother of the late Allen (late Judith) Benkendorf, Yvonne (late Donald) Anderson, Dennis (late Lyn) Benkendorf, and David Benkendorf: loved uncle, cousin, and friend of many. A retired butcher Don entered the real estate business eventually acquiring several RE/MAX offices. He was past President of the Hazel Crest Lions Club, and a proud U. S. Navy Veteran. Don had a passion for travel and was an avid scuba master; a hobby he enjoyed sharing with his grandchildren. Her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. Rita was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Joliet, IL and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mokena, IL. Rita was a department manager at Grants Department Store in Joliet, IL was a Cubs Scout Den Mother, managed the Ben Franklin Dime Store in Midlothian, IL and belonged to the Mokena Homemakers Women's Organization. Dear daughter of the late Edward and Theresa Ward, Beloved wife of the late Norman W. Patterson. Loving mother of Ray (Peggy) Patterson, Bill (Denise) Patterson, John (Pam) Patterson, Norman Patterson, Edward Patterson (Deceased in Infancy), Paul Patterson, and Kay (Tom) Ducett. James J. Kollbaum, age 76, of New Lenox passed away on September 27, 2023. Jim was the beloved companion and life partner of Laurene Wajchert; loving father of Michael (Sara) Kollbaum; proud grandfather of Sabrina, Daphne, and Samuel Kollbaum; father figure to Missy (Mike) Gale and Michael Wajchert; adored papa of Dominic Congelose, Michael Jr. , Ryder, Brody, and Maggie Wajchert. Jim proudly served in the United States Army from 1968 - 1971. He was a Vietnam Veteran and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Bronze Star Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, plus several more badges and medals for his exemplary service to the United States of America. Jim spent his working career at Commonwealth Edison, an Exelon Company for 30 plus years. He started in ComEd's underground division in the Chicago loop area and moved to the overhead division, where he was a crew leader for Chicago South, based out of North Lawndale. Jim had an unwavering faith in God and his country. He was fiercely loyal to those he loved and was generous with his time to family, friends, and anyone in need. Jim loved riding his bicycle, watching football, especially the Bears, discussing sports with his grandchildren, enjoying his beer and weekend trips with Laur, and was always willing to help those around him. He will be missed by numerous family members and friends. A public memorial service will be on Saturday December 9th at 11:00 a. m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 508 N. Cedar Rd, New Lenox, IL 60451. A private military service with honors will be conducted at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Justin Jurie Baity 36, formerly of New Lenox Illinois passed away suddenly at his home in Palm CoastFlorida on October 10, 2023, due to complications from DVT. Justin was born December 15, 1986 to Jeffrey A. & Debra A. Baity in Hazel Crest, Illinois. He grew up inNew Lenox, Illinois and was a 2005 graduate of Lincoln-Way Central Community High School where heenjoyed playing oboe in Concert Band, percussion in Marching Band and the AFROTC program all fouryears. He attended Joliet Junior College and Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, studyingMechanical Engineering and Computer Science, and was employed by the New Lenox Park District andUPS-Rockdale Illinois, prior to moving to Palm Coast in 2016 to return to college. He was a 2018 honorsgraduate from Keiser University, Daytona Beach Florida, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree inForensic Investigation. Justin is survived by his father Jeffrey of Orland Park Illinois. His sister, April Baity-Sousa (Petter) of NovaParnamirim, RN Brazil, stepfather David Elger of Palm Coast, housemates Virgil and Bill, work friendsand an extensive group of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family across three continents. Justin was predeceased by his mother, Debra A. Elger (Rendleman), Grandparents John F. & Betty A. Baity,and William Sr. & Margaret Rendleman. Uncles Ernie Klimczak, Dennis Koontz, William "Bud"Rendleman and Bob Elger, aunts Audrey Klimczak and Noreen Keneipp, cousins Jillian Baity and JenniferCoffman and furr-nephews, Tibbers and Lycan Sousa. Justin was a quiet, intelligent, and empathetic guy with a wry sense of humor and a knack for speaking justthe facts, as he perceived them! He enjoyed science fiction and action/fantasy novels, playing video gamesof conquest with an international group of fellow gamers, Cosplay, bowling, and comic book superheromovies, where he would explain to his father all the backstories for the characters. (Marvel not DC ofcourse!) He would never turn down BBQ ribs, sushi, spicy/hot Asian food, or key lime pie. In addition tothe instruments he played from childhood, he could play guitar and write/arrange music. He could takeapart just about anything mechanical or electronic, put it back together and it would work! Justin truly wasthe moniker he gave himself; The Enigmatic One. enig'madik/adjective; difficult to interpret or understand;mysterious. No services are scheduled.
