Mrs. Shirley Fay Applegate, age 81, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at University of Louisville Hospital Jewish. She was born April 29, 1941, the daughter of Robert and Flora Mae (Logsdon) Dorsey. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; and three children, Johnny, Robin and Lawana Applegate. She is survived by two daughters, Jacque Strickland, Scottsburg, IN, and Debbie (Bill) Carrier, Shepherdsville, KY; a bonus son in law, William "T" Aikin; three grandchildren, April (Raymond) Downs, Brandenburg, KY, Jonathon Aikin, Louisville, KY, and Taylor (Tori) Strickland, Madison, IN; 12 great grandchildren, Seth (Elizabeth), Cody (Shayne), Faith, Landen, Jake and Javery Downs, Bryleigh Keith, Brently, Rowan, Elijah and Cayden Strickland, and Gracie Hardison; her sister, Jane Brown, Louisville, KY and her special nephew, Billy Brown, Louisville, KY. In honoring Shirley's wishes, the family has chosen cremation. Services have been entrusted to Hager Funeral Home.
