Sherwood was employed in the transportation industry for over 40 years with Akers Motor Lines, Central Motor Lines, Roadway Express and Lancer Transportation. After retiring from the trucking industry, he opened his own shop, Fix It Right Garage. He was a great mechanic and enjoyed working on all types of cars and trucks for the public, as well as his family and friends. Keener, Clifford Keener, Hyrum Keener and Reid Keener; and three sisters, Doris Lynn, Sarah Hensen and Lorrine Wong. Sherwood is survived by two daughters, Kay Keener Smith and husband Butch and Gail Keener Croom, both of Kannapolis; two sons, Rex Keener and wife Patti of Salisbury and Gene Downum and wife Sarah of Charlotte; eight grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Special thank you and appreciation for the wonderful care from Hospice and personal caregivers, Mary Bryant, Sheila Padilla and Gary Griffin.
