Age - 62

December 7, 2023

At age 62, our loving dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend, Patrick (Ted) Theodore Crittenden, Jr. , of Lake City, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on December 5, 2023. Ted was born April 2, 1961, in Clare, Michigan, to Patrick Theodore Crittenden Sr. , and Rita Arleen (Bowman) Crittenden. He was the second oldest of nine children. Some of you knew him by Pat, others Ted or "Uncle Ted," as he was so fondly called by many around Lake City. But, if you knew him, he always greeted you with a smile or warm "Hello!" He had a boisterous laugh that you could not forget, and everyone knew when he was in the room. He cared deeply for his friends and family and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He had a tough exterior, but was a giant Teddy bear. He loved his four girls more than they will ever know, and his grandkids even more. Ted was a protector, and a great brother to his siblings. If someone was in trouble, he came to the rescue. His nieces and nephews will always remember him for his "teasing" personality and his great sense of humor. All have very fond memories of Uncle Ted. Ted worked as a truck driver for many years. He traveled thousands of miles on the roads. His employers touted him as being one of the hardest and most reliable workers they had. He was also a member of the Lake City Eagles 3884 where he made steadfast friends over the years. You were loved by so many and will be deeply missed by all. You are forever in our hearts. Ted is survived by his four daughters, Elizabeth (Josh) Winkelmann, Angela (Jon) Ahrens, Miranda Crittenden, and Madelyn Crittenden; his three grandchildren, Kiera and Keaton Winkelmann, and Brantley Ahrens; siblings, Terry (Woodie) Oakland, Tracy Bartz, Tammy Blaszak, Catherine Crittenden, Thomas Crittenden, Christine Meldrum, and Charles (Sheila) Crittenden, as well as many nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Crittenden, and a younger brother, Christopher Crittenden. To honor his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023, starting at 1:00 p. m. , at the Lake City Eagles 3884, located at 4154 West Houghton Lake Road, Lake City, Michigan. Please join the family for a service, some food and fellowship. The family is being served by the Young-Holdship Funeral Home in Lake City.
