My precious son, our brother and father, Josef Eugen (Jody) Ussery, age 53 of Hampton, Georgia slipped into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, November 19, 2023. Jody was born in East Point, Georgia on August 25, 1970. His father, Benjamin Ussery, Sr. and stepfather, Stan Truax preceded him in death. Survivors include his mother, Heide Ussery Truax; brothers, Benjamin Ussery (Laura), Nathan Ussery and Sidney Ussery; daughters, Kayla Burge (Brandon Pollard), Brandi Edmonds, Ashley Edmonds; son, Matthew Edmonds; several grandchildren among them, Selina Burge; aunts, Kay Price, Brenda Parker; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Pierre Valcin Beneche age 81 passed away Monday, November 13, 2023 at his residence. Pierre was born in Haiti on February 13, 1942. He grew up in Petit Goave Haiti but later relocated to New York City with his wife where they raised three children. In 2008 they retired from Staten Island University Hospital and moved South where they made Hampton, GA their home. Pierre is preceded in death by his wife Arismene and parents, Zelius and Cecil Beneche. Survivors include children- Myrlande Beneche Ulysse and Husband Tony , Rom Beneche, Claudy Beneche; grandchildren- Michael Ulysse, Briana Ulysse Jada Beneche , Claudy Pierre Beneche Jr , Joshua Noah Beneche, Johnathan Nathaniel Beneche; brothers, Claude Beneche and Oles Beneche. Visitation will be Friday December 1 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. A memorial service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 am. His final wishes were to be cremated. Atchison, his wife, JoAnn Atchison, son, Brian Atchison, 1 brother, 1 sister all preceded him in death. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from Southern States. He was a member of the VFW Post # 5448, Moose Lodge #1503 and had held several offices there. Survivors include children, Bobby Atchison (Nancy), Gayla Woods (Mike), April Barineau (Tim Butler); grandchildren, Emily Moheb (Bob), Mandy Cornelison (Jed), Jon Atchison (Tiffany), Britany Williams (Todd), Colton Woods, Dawson Taylor Ali); 13 grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Atchison (Jan), Noland Atchison (Kathy); sister, Sue Diesen; sister-in-law, Frannie Atchison; several nieces and nephews. Fred was born on Monday, November 25, 1946, in Toccoa, Georgia to the late Frederick Wayne Ghostlaw and the late Georgia Lee Burrus Ghostlaw. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Ghostlaw; and sister, Wanda Ghostlaw Wessell. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War. Fred was a member of Cedar Rock Church and enjoyed twigging and digging, and cutting grass. Fred is survived by his wife, Sharna Ghostlaw; children, Kimberly and Shannon Haynes, Michael Hendrix; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, David Wessell; several nieces and cousins. A funeral service for Mr. Fred Ghostlaw will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023, at the Sherrell Memorial Chapel at 2:00 P. M. with Chaplain Justin Culbertson officiating.
