Shelby Franklin Erwin, 87, of Pocola, Oklahoma entered the gates of Heaven on May 8, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was a skilled iron worker for most of his life. He was married to the love of his life for 69 years, Patsy Jane (Jones) Erwin. Together they raised four children. He gave his life to his Lord and Savior in 1975. He was a deacon, choir member and Sunday school teacher at Bonanza Assembly of God and Life in Christ Church in Rock Island. He was also a member of Calvary Chapel in Hackett, Arkansas. He loved gardening and sharing his abundant harvest with friends and family. He could fix anything! He loved his grandkids and was very active in all their activities. He was always full of pride for their accomplishments. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Erwin of the home; son, Larry Erwin and wife, Sophia of Pocola; daughter, Pam Moreton and husband, Fred of Pocola; daughter, Kay Holland and husband, Allan of Pocola; son, Mark Erwin and wife, Heather of Greenwood; grandchildren, Freddie Moreton and wife, Caitie of Mustang, OK, Bethany Adcock and husband, Bo of Pocola, Miranda Fair and Jammie of Oro Valley, AZ, Lacey Tople and husband, Sunny of Oceanside, CA, Brooklyn Weindel and husband, Heath of Fort Smith, Brylee Erwin of Greenwood and Easton Erwin of Fayetteville; great grandchildren, Addie Adcock, Jax Adcock, Tripp Moreton, Scarlett Moreton, Georgia Moreton, Waylon Fair, Axel Tople and Murphy Mae Weindel; brother, Ray and wife, Sandy and sisters, Edwina Osburn and Christeen Erwin all of Pocola. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Gladys Erwin, brothers, Leon (Son), Raymond, Joe, Ned, Charles and Bob and sisters, Imogene Wilson, Juanita Erwin, Freda Creighton, Betty Sue Spencer and Patsy Whitlock. Funeral service will be 10 a. m. , Wednesday, May 10 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Mountain View Cemetery in Hackett. Viewing will be Tuesday from 1 - 7 p. m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 - 7 p. m.
