Sheila Heaslett Obituary

Mrs. Sheila Smith Heaslett of Dothan passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the age of 78. A private family service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Heaslett atteneded Harmon School, graduate of Ashford High School in 1962, and received Associate Arts Degree from Chipola College. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Malone, Florida, where she was a choir member. She was an avid tennis player, exceptional volunteer for many organizations, worked at D. Etheridge for over 25 years, where she ran and owned the shoe department, and was an executive assistant to David Etheridge. Mrs. Heaslett was a member of the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council, a Gubernatorial Appointment, where she served as Chairperson. She is preceded in death by her parents George W. and Eleanor Wofford Smith, daughter Susan Heaslett, brother Jimmy W. Smith and sister-in-law Elaine H. Smith. Survivors include her husband Jack C. Heaslett of Dothan, son Todd Heaslett of Marianna, Florida, brother Larry Smith of Bazemore Mill Pond, sister-in-law Patsy Smith of Ashford and numerous nieces and nephews.
