Michael Irvine Obituary Mishawaka- Mike Irvine 74, residing in Mishawaka Indiana, Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Grandfather, Uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Riverside Village in Elkhart, Indiana. Mike was born on January 19, 1949, to the late Wayne Devon and Lois Ann (Sefranka) Irvine. Michael graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1967. On April 20, 1968, Mike was united in marriage to Mary Joe Buszkiewicz who on July 16, 2015, preceded him in death. Mike worked the majority of his working days at Bendix Corp. He also spent some time at Gerber Mfg. After retirement, Mike had his own business, Irvines Lawn Care & Landscaping. The union of Mike and Mark Joe brought three children, Kristi (Tom) of San Antonio, Texas, Tracey (Julian) Cephus of Granger, Indiana, Michael (Gloria) of Mishawaka, Indiana, Surviving along with his children is his wife Andrea (Ruttan) Irvine, grandchildren, Justin (Erica) Eash, Christopher Eash, Zach Irvine, Treven (Victoria) Irvin, Torri (T. J. ) Hufnagle, Hailey Davis, Danielle Davis, Brayden Davis, Courtney and Madison Irvine. Great grandchildren, Aubree and Braxton Hufnagle, Benny and Tobias Davis, Adara and Kaelo Eash, also surviving is his sister Lynn Irvine, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Mike in death were his parents, Wayne and Lois Irvine, brother Daniel Irvine and Mikes wife of 48 years, Mary Joe Irvine. Memorial services will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday November 22, 2023, at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Danville - Lois Margaret Griffin Stevenson, 96, previously of Danville, Illinois, died on November 8, 2023, in Elkhart, Indiana. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on June 30, 1927, the daughter of Esther Damge Friedley. She married William "Bill" Stevenson on June 5, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa. He preceded her in death. Lois is survived by four daughters, Rebecca "Bekki" Knox of Goshen, Indiana; Nancy (Mike) Moore of Champaign, Illinois; Linda Valdes of Rantoul, Illinois; Barbara Conover of Rantoul, Illinois; and a son, Paul (Molly) Stevenson of Hahira, Georgia; 13 grandchildren, Charles "Chad" Knox, Maria Knox (Neil) Gifford, Melissa Knox Ettline, Dana Edwards, Jaden (Melissa) Edwards, Samantha Valdes (Brad) Karsten, Anthony Valdes, Lindsay Stingley, Ashlee Beal (Wes) Riggsby, Adam Beal, Kristina Stevenson Gray, Kyle Stevenson, and Katie Stevenson Palmer; and twenty-three great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her mother, her sister Mildred Griffin Templeton, and grandson Christopher William Valdes. Lois earned her Bachelor of Education through Mankato State College in Mankato Minnesota. She and her family relocated to Danville, Illinois, in September, 1970, where she substitute taught in the Danville District 118 School System, particularly at North Ridge (Junior High). For many years she worked as a proofreader at Interstate Publisher and Printers of Danville. Lois was an avid Fighting Illini fan and proudly wore her Orange and Blue every chance possible. She was a season ticket holder for both football and basketball and a member of the Quarterback Club and Rebounder's Club. Lois loved supporting her children's extra-curricular activities. She is remembered by many as a cheerleading coach for the Tornadoes Youth Football program and a supporter of DHS Band and Football Boosters. Working part time at the Danville Public Library in the genealogy department after her retirement enabled Lois to work with her passion for genealogy. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Danville. Lois was a patriot and believed strongly in fulfilling civic duties and happily served as an Election Judge. She was also active for many years in the Golden K, a founding member of the Vermilion County War Museum, past president of the American Legion, Post 210 Auxiliary, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. A Visitation and Celebration of Life for Lois Stevenson will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St, Danville, IL, followed by a brief service. Burial will take place at Danville National Cemetery at a later time. Vernice Moore Gore, 85, died, unexpectantly, on November 2, 2023, at home. She was born August 08, 1938, in Elkhart, IN. She's the daughter of Esley Eugene Shepherd and Cebella Willis, who preceded her in death. She was baptized at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Elkhart. Vernice graduated from Elkhart High School in 1957. She attended Ball State University. Vernice moved to Chicago Ill in Feb of 1961, where she met and married George Moore in Nov of 1964. In July of 1969, Vernice moved to Philadelphia Pa. Vernice was employed at National Analyst for 30 years. Vernice met and married Larry Gore, and was blessed with four stepsons Darryl, Terrence, Todd and Xavier. Vernice always active in the church, joined Zion Hill Baptist church in 1980, and faithfully served on various church boards and committees. She loved volunteering and helping others, especially youth. So, she volunteered at Philadelphia Public library, several years with the VNA Hospice of Philadelphia, and mentored in the public schools. After retirement, Vernice moved back to Elkhart and united with Full Gospel Fellowship Church. Vernice loved being around children, she immediately started mentoring in the Elkhart Public school system. She was continually active in the community, volunteering at the Lerner Theatre; in the Library at the Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, mentor for Dream Works, Inc. , and volunteered at New Creation Daycare. There are many things to be said about Vernice but what stands out the most is "Vernice Loved People. " Surviving to mourn her departure, are sons Darryl Gore (Philadelphia Pennsylvania), Terrence Gore (Dallas, Texas), Todd Gore (Savannah GA) and Xavier Gore (Dallas Texas); grandchildren: Caroline Wilson, Michael Gore, Saniyah Gore, Brandon Gore, and Michelle Gore; one foster brother, Joe Gamble; and host of cousins. MarySue Wanberg, 78, residing in Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Goshen General Hospital, after an extended illness. MarySue was born on October 13, 1945 in Cherokee, Iowa to the late Clifford O. and Evelyn (O'Meara) Wanberg. Surviving is a brother, John Wanberg and his wife, Linda; a special sister by choice, Hilda Brawley, and three loving nieces and one nephew: Angela Stevenot, Tim Wanberg, Barbara Chandler, and Tanya Burkowitz. Also surviving are her loving grandnieces and grand-nephews Skyler and Eric Wanberg, Matt, Ben and Sam Stevenot, Tim and Katie Nimtz, and Noah and Samantha Burkowitz. " MarySue was the owner/operator and master stylist at Klip & Kurl Salon for 50 years. Mary Sue was raised in Galva, Iowa and moved to Middlebury as a teenager and graduated from Middlebury High School, and then attended beauty school. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Visitation for MarySue will be held Sunday, October 29, from 4-6 p. m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. , Elkhart.
