Sharon Y (McCallister) Withrow, 72, passed away on October 4, 2023, at her home in Ashtabula, Ohio She was born on September 17, 1951, in South Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of James and Verna (Smith) McCallister Sharon was a proud homemaker who took great pride in maintaining a beautiful home to raise her children in and more recently a loving place for her many grand and great-grandchildren to visit She was a dedicated member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Ashtabula Sharon enjoyed watching scary movies, reading her bible, listening to gospel music and the oldies Her true source of joy and happiness came from spending time with her family, she truly embraced and loved her role as a grandmother Sharon touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness and unwavering love Her legacy of love, strength, and wisdom will forever be cherished by all who were lucky enough to know her She is survived by her loving children: Wendell (Karlene) Withrow, Theresa (David) Whysong, Larry Withrow, Jr , Christopher Withrow and Jason (Claudia) Withrow; her brother, James McCallister; her grandchildren: Jessica, Danielle, Nathaniel, Nicole, Mitchell, Kimberlynn, Angelina, Isaiah, Christina, Madison, Anthony, Heather, Gunner, Zach, Eric, Vincent, Destiny, Summer, Taylor, Zach, Gage, Savannah, Sarah, Gio and Landon and many great-grandchildren She is preceded in death by her parents; her children: Sherry, Kimberly and William "Billy"; her siblings: Dennis, Wendell, Chuck, Carol, Maxine, Charlotte, Donna, Geraldine, Betty, June, Dale and two in infancy and her grandchildren: Lora, A Tyler and Cameron Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023, from 5:00p-7:00p and Tuesday, October 10, 2023, from 10:00a-11:00a with a funeral service to immediately follow at 11:00a at the Fleming and Billman Funeral Home, 49 West Jefferson Street, Jefferson, Ohio Her brother, James McCallister will be officiating the funeral service Following the service, Sharon will be laid to rest at South Denmark Cemetery in Denmark Township, Ohio

Clara Ann Copeland, 85, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, December 3, 2023. She was born January 11, 1938, in Erie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Raymond and Rose (Brown) VanDyke. She married Gordon Copeland on April 6, 1968. Clara worked various jobs throughout her career and most recently was a security guard at True Temper in Ashtabula. She enjoyed gardening, doing word search puzzles, playing games on her phone, but family get togethers were always her favorite. Clara is survived by her husband of 55 years, Gordon; children, Deborah Gammon, Raymond Kelley, Ronald (Becky) Copeland, Carol Azzano, Bryan (Shelley) Copeland, William Kelley, and Mark (Chrischelle) Copeland; brother, Howard "Butch" Johnson; 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son, George Kelley; daughter-in-law, Betty Kelley; siblings, Theodore VanDyke, and Raymond (JoAnn) VanDyke II; grandsons, Larry Michael, Jr. and Markus Copeland; and her parents. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 4PM at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave. , Ashtabula, Ohio with Rev. Gerald Gammon officiating. Laura L. ThompsonDORSET - Laura Louise Thompson, 63, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023 at Hillcrest Hospital. She was born July 3, 1960 in Cleveland, the daughter of Joe Lee and Rosemary (Jones) Chappell and had been an Ashtabula resident most of her life. Laura was a dedicated employee who had worked as an administrative secretary for the Ashtabula County Board of Commissioners in both the Commissioners Office and the Building Department. She passed tragically following a brief illness as she was just preparing to plan her retirement after many years of service to county government. Laura was proud of her Appalachian roots and was devoted to the simple things in life - family, God, and country. She enjoyed gardening and nature and loved to dance in her younger years. Music always made her smile and she often listened to Elvis, 50's DooWop, and old country favorites like Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. Always one with a soft spot for animals, she loved anything furry, especially her lab mix, Cocoa. Her survivors include three children, Amber (Brandon) Thompson-McFall of Fort Stockton, TX, Michael (Lauren) Thompson, Jr. of Dorset, and Gregory Sili of King Bay, GA; two grandchildren, Kenneth Heinbaugh and Hannah Orrenmaa; her father, Joe Lee Chappell of Dorset; two brothers, Austin (Julie) Chappell of Painesville and Treston (Jennifer) Chappell of Savannah, MO; one sister, Samantha Chappell of Ravenna; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date by the family. No services will be held at this time. Todd A. Keating OLMSTED TOWNSHIP - Todd Anthony Keating, 60, passed away on Nov. 7, 2023, at Fairview Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 25, 1963, the son of Francis and Janice (Kolenz) Keating. Todd graduated from Padua High School in 1981. Shortly after graduation Todd began a 40-year career working for the Cleveland Elevator Construction Union - Local 17. He was always known as a hard worker and a man that would go above and beyond in everything he did in life; whether it be his work for the union, helping a friend in need, or hosting one of his many well planned parties. He loved the outdoors and being one with nature; as well as being the lover of music. At parties he was known to be one of the greatest "leg guitar" players of all time as his family and friends would say with a laugh. He may have loved and enjoyed many things in life but there was no greater love in his life than the love he had for his three boys and his family. He is survived by his loving family: his father Francis Keating; his three sons: Steven (Nichole) Keating, Tom (his fiancee Brittany) Keating, and Ryan (his fiancee Kayla); his grandchildren Sylvia and Liam; his sister Teri (Michael) Kleinhenz; his loving companion Christine Maclean; his niece Mackenzie Keating and nephew Timothy Keating Jr. ; and his former wife and dear friend Sharon Kelley-Keating. He was preceded by his mother and his brother Tim. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Saturday November 18, 2023, at 10:00 a. m. at St. Clarence Catholic Church, 30106 Lorain Road, North Olmsted. Helen Marie Jerauld, 98, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the Villa at the Lake. She was born January 1, 1925, in Ashtabula, the daughter of the late Edward and Blanche (Bartholemew) Carey. A lifelong area resident, Helen married the love of her life Harry Jerauld on January 15, 1944. Helen worked for many years at the AAA in Ashtabula. She loved taking trips to the family cabin in Pennsylvania that her father built. She and Harry would spend many summers there enjoying the peace and quiet and the beauty of nature around them. A retreat that the family still enjoys today. Helen was extremely crafty; she could make something out of nothing. Helen and Harry loved to travel the world to see new things and visit family members. After Harry's passing, she continued her love of traveling with her friend Vern. Helen is survived by her children, Charles Jerauld, Barbara Tryon, William "Bud" (Bonnie) Jerauld, Lana (Bill) Shugars, Gary (Brenda) Jerauld, and Kimberly (John) Zimmerman; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry in 1996; her daughter, Karen Lauer; companion Vern Riehl; siblings, Catherine French, Alice Parrish, Alfred "Buster" Carey, and Frank "Duane" Carey; and her parents. Berchard M. Warring, 89, passed away on October 27, 2023, in Ashtabula, Ohio. He was born on December 22, 1933 in Harpersfield, Ohio, the son of John and Jessie (Henderson) Warring. After being employed at Reliance Electric, Berch was self-employed as a real estate broker, past president of Board of Realtors, owner and property manager, licensed life insurance agent, car wash owner, and business manager at Gateway Church. He was Sunday School superintendent at Peoples Church, served on the Ashtabula County Planning Commission and Geneva Civil Service Commission. On September 14, 1957, Berchard married Mary Jane Lienhard, sharing 66 loving years together. He is survived by his adoring wife, Mary Jane, children: Brian (Patricia) and Bruce (Debbie); his grandchildren: Sean (Fabiana) Warring, John (Ashley) Warring, Christopher (Fernanda) Warring, Evangeline (Josh) Crowell, Stephanie (Ryan) Coram and Brent Warring; his great grandchildren: Abbott, Jacob, and Paxton; Brother-in-law, Robert (Tina) Lienhard and sister-in-law, Carol Ann Erickson.
