Obituary of Sharon Richmond Sharon A. Richmond, 87, of 3695 Kotary Rd., passed away early Wednesday morning, January 30, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family under the care of Hospice. She was born on June 3, 1931, in Lebanon, NY, the daughter of Clayton D. and Marguerite P. Alcott Locke. She attended Syracuse schools. On December 24, 1947, Sharon was united in marriage to Benjamin Richmond in Peckville, PA. Benjamin passed away on July 29, 2005. Sharon was employed as a domestic engineer for the Super 8 Motel in Oneida for several years. She enjoyed wintering in Zephyr Hills, FL, and summering in Old Forge, NY. Surviving are her three children, Jerry A. Richmond, of Oneida, Bryan W. Richmond, of New Port Richie, FL, and Randy D. Richmond, of Zephyr Hills, FL; her former daughter-in-law, Cynthia Evans, of Utica; ten grandchildren, Sherry (Thomas) Hicks, Jerrod (Heidi) Richmond, James Richmond, Steven (Melissa) Richmond, Jinelle (Morgan) Jenkins, Jerry (Kate) Richmond, Jr., Jeremy Richmond (fiance, Tracy Wright), Nicholas (Heather) Wickham, David Richmond, and Alison (Sam) Kenyon; 28 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Sharon was predeceased by her son, Benjamin C. Richmond on March 31, 2018; her brother, Gerald Locke on July 21, 2002; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Locke on November 7, 2013; her niece, Jeanine Breidis on November 27, 2009; and her nephew, Gary Locke, on June 18, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 12:00 PM (noon) at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc., where the Pastor Gina Gausman will officiate. Interment will take place in Oneida Castle Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home, 342 Main St., Oneida.
