"Sharon Lee Elias, 77 of Muskogee was born February 8, 1946 in Burkburnett, Texas to Raymond and Margie (Pennington) Stoker and peacefully passed away Saturday September 9, 2023 in Muskogee surrounded by her loving husband and daughters. Sharon completed her high school education in Warner. She met and later married her best friend, Bobby Elias on September 11, 1962, in Muskogee. A marriage that stood the test of time of 60 years, 11 months and 29 days. Taking care of and spending quality time with Bob, their girls and her grandchildren was her greatest passion. Sharon enjoyed gardening and was the best Christmas Holiday Theme planner. She loved being a homemaker and will truly be missed by many. Sharon may be gone but will never be forgotten! Her love and devotion for her family was evident in her actions and everything she did. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bob of the home; daughters, Sherri Jackson of Muskogee; Shelley Cooper of Coweta; Kimbra Freeman and husband Tommy of Muskogee; Amy Craig and husband Tommy of Muskogee; grandchildren, Brett Jackson and wife Brittney of Muskogee, Lloyd Cooper of Checotah, Kristen Cooper and fiance Joseph Denton of Coweta, Alexis Cooper of Coweta, Chase Freeman and wife Taylor of Muskogee; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Keely Craig, Bodhi Jackson, Olivia Freeman, Barley Jackson, Hattie Freeman all of Muskogee; and future great-grandson, Jaxson Freeman; extended family and many friends. A celebration of Sharon's life is pending at this time. Private graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee with Brett Jackson, Lloyd Cooper, Chase Freeman, Tommy Freeman, Tommy Craig, and Joseph Denton serving as casket bearers with honorary casket bearer, Jim Wilson. Richard Joseph Shepler, Jr, 84, of Muskogee, OK, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 in Tulsa, OK. He was born on January 26, 1939 in Oroville, CA, the son of Richard Joseph Shepler, Sr. and Mary Belle Gilfillan (Ridge). Richard was a true family man who devoted his life to serving the Lord, wearing many hats as a Deacon, Music Minister, and Sunday School Teacher. His punctuality was unmatched, reflecting his faithfulness to his commitments. Richard was a big OU Sooners sports fan. He found joy in woodworking and was a jack of all trades. Richard's thirst for knowledge was evident in his love for reading and his eagerness to learn new things. Richard enjoyed peanut butter and jelly on crackers, nightly hot cocoa, and a refreshing lemonade while watching his favorite western TV Shows. Richard approached life with an ornery sense of humor, along with a hardworking and generous spirit. Richard is survived by his wife of 58 years Barbara Shepler (Burt); children: Richard Shepler III, Brendelee Marshall, and Vickie Veach and husband Ron; grandchildren: Mikaela Marshall and Nickolas Marshall; siblings: Marylou Berryhill and husband Kenneth, Donna Stover, Virginia Sloan and husband Bill, and Robert Gilfillan; and several nieces and nephews. Richard is preceded in death his parents Richard Joseph Shepler, Sr. and Mary Belle Gilfillan (Ridge); and his brother Bruce Gilfillan. Viewing will be held from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home of Muskogee. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM Friday, December 1, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 220 South R Street in Muskogee, OK, with Ron Veach officiating. Pallbearers for the service are Richard Shepler, III, Ron Veach, Nickolas Marshall, and Robert Gilfillan. Richard will be laid to rest in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery after a private committal ceremony. Services under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home.Show more
