Betty Jo Scott

Mar 09, 1941 - Feb 17, 2024

location-icon

Wentzville, MO

Betty Jo Scott, reunited in heaven with her cherished husband Jim Scott, on February 17th, 2024. Betty (Krebs) Scott, born to Mildred and John Krebs on March 9th, 1941. Married to Jim Scott for 57 years prior to his passing in 2019. Beloved mother of John (Judi) Scott, Julie Scott Soffner, Mickey (Lori) Scott. Grandmother of Amanda (Nick) Gerth, Jim (Megan) Scott, Luis (Candice) Soffner, Maria Soffner, Charlie Soffner, Jessica (Joe) Anderson, Mike (Kristin) Scott. Great-Grandmother (GiGi) to Stella, Henry, Teddy, Leo, Olivia, Jackson and Wesley. Sister of Carolyn (Jim) Gibbs, Jim (Marilyn) Krebs (deceased), cousin, aunt, and friend to so many. Betty and Jim lived a truly remarkable life together, raising a family alongside beloved friends and neighbors in the glory days of North County. St. Norbert parish was the anchor, as was Wedgwood subdivision and their booming community of friends and chosen family. Together, Betty and Jim created a home full of love, gatherings, fun and always… music. That little house on Bradwell Drive was the starting point for a legacy of adventures and life-long friendships that followed. Scott-Gallagher Soccer Club began as a small north county soccer club where Betty and Jim’s kids (and friends’ kids) could play high level soccer while growing as both players and people. As SGSC grew in size, so did the need for gathering spaces larger than the Scott family party room could provide. Betty famously ran the kitchen of Scott-Gallagher Bar and Grill in a tiny strip mall behind the St. Sabina soccer fields. Betty was known for her signature salads and fish on Lenten Fridays while Scotty and the band kept music playing for soccer families and life-long Florissant friends every weekend night. In the early 1980’s Betty and Jim followed one more dream by moving to High Hill, Missouri where they created yet another living legacy: the Scott Family Farm. Over the years the property grew along with the size of their family. True to form, ‘the farm’ continued the famous Scott gatherings, just a little further west. Parties, holidays, birthdays, JimFests, music festivals, hunting, fishing … celebrations were simply sweeter on ‘the farm’ and will continue to be for many years and generations of Scotts to come. Betty was the backbone of her family. Strong, capable, loving and quite willing to remain behind the scenes, Betty was the perfect partner for the outgoing and magnetic Jimmy Scott. Betty was never happier than when her family was gathered, having fun, playing music, and enjoying the farm to the fullest. Betty and Jim are reunited for eternity, guiding us on Earth in both love and fun, until we meet again. To to the family or in memory of Betty Jo (Krebs) Scott, please
