"Shane Reed, 54 of Athens, passed away on Monday, May 8th, 2023. Mr. Reed was born on June 25th, 1968, in Limestone County, to Larry Appleton and Peggy Collins. Mr. Reed is survived by his wife Amy Reed; parents Larry Appleton and Peggy Collins; brother Samuel Reed; nieces Jessica Snyder and Rachael Fowler; and great nephew River Snyder. Funeral services for Mr. Reed will be Thursday, May 11th, 2023, at 2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Frankie Murphy and Dwight Raburn officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00-1:45pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at New Oakland Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will Steven Carter, Michael Lee Johnson, Ronnie Parker, Randall Snyder, Johnny Heflin, Kevin Heflin, Craig Hamilton, and Tracy McMahan. Mr. Reed enjoyed sports, but especially Alabama Football, and he loved antiques! He will be dearly missed. "
