Seth Goldberg Obituary

Seth M. Goldberg, MD, FACS of Potomac, Maryland passed away unexpectedly with family by his side on Tuesday October 3, 2023, at the age of 74. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Goldberg, his mother Selma T. Goldberg, and his sister Lise Goldberg. Dr. Goldberg was born in Washington, D. C. and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland. He graduated from Northwood High School and earned his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University, his Doctor of Medicine from Tufts University School of Medicine, and his Master of Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University. Following medical school, he completed his internship and residency at Harbor General and UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Goldberg was also a fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Goldberg worked in private practice as an otolaryngologist and facial plastic surgeon for more than twenty-seven years. For the past thirteen years, he served as a Medical Director at Aetna/CVS. Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Goldberg was a gifted pianist, had a passion for cars, built model ships, and enjoyed playing golf with his close friends. He also doted on his much-loved canine companions, Ziggy and Teddy. Above all else, Dr. Goldberg cherished his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Arlene Goldberg, his son, Jason Goldberg, his daughter, Sandra (Kenneth) Berlin. He also leaves behind his three beloved grandchildren, Sophie, Ryder, and Miles Berlin. Funeral services will be held on Monday October 9, 2023, at 10:00 a. m. at the Garden of Remembrance Chapel (14321 Comus Road Clarksburg MD). Internment to follow. Shiva will be held from 7-9 p. m. on Monday evening. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Dr. Goldberg may be directed to support Dr. Amy DeZern of the Leukemia Department at Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
