Serena Brown Obituary

"Serena Misae Brown was born February 12, 1999 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Tina Rene Hess (McKenna) and Chissoe Dean Brown. She passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023 in Payne County, Oklahoma at the age of 24 years. Serena was proud of her Native American heritage having been a member of Quapaw and Osage Tribes, and also descends from Otoe and Arapaho Tribes. She attended grade school in Claremore and began Owasso Public Schools in 6th grade until she graduated with the Owasso Class of 2017. She attended TCC, but later completed her pet grooming certification and lovingly groomed many dogs and cats in her home while also working as a waitress. She was a lover of all animals, saw beauty in everything, and had many talents including art, dance, hooping, music, piano, guitar, softball, and cooking. She brought joy and a bright light to so many people's lives. Those she leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include: Mother; Tina Rene Hess, of Owasso, Oklahoma. Father; Chissoe Dean Brown, of White Oak, Oklahoma. Sister; Chelsey Taylor Brown of Pheonix, Arizona. Brother's; Russell Dean Humburg of Greenville, Michigan, and CJ of Collinsville, Oklahoma. Grandmothers; Billie Williams of Enid, Oklahoma and Nikki Thomas of White Oak, Oklahoma She was also loved by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of extended family members, as well as her festival families. She is preceded in death by her step-father Jerry Glenn Hess, grandparents Dwight and Cindi McKenna, Emel and Glynis Hess, and grandfathers Johnny Lee Williams, Willard Brown, and Martin Thomas. Memorial service will be held 11:00 a. m. on Saturday, October 7th, 2023 at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel at 9110 N Garnett Rd, Owasso, OK 74055.
