On September 9, 2023 the clouds parted and the angels took our beloved Sean Michael Brading home. Sean was an incredible young man who was born September 29, 2004 at Upper Valley Medical Center. In his 18 years of life, Sean had one goal that he never strayed from, to live his life to the fullest and to have fun. We all admired him for that. When he put his mind to something, he was determined to do it. This past spring, Sean earned his degree from the Upper Valley Career Center in Construction Technologies. His plans were to start working in construction after the season ended at Elliot Land and Hardscaping. One of Sean's special talents was that he could dance. Although you probably never saw these dance moves because he liked to keep it hidden, when he was younger, he loved to bust out his dance moves to make us all laugh. Sean was a very happy boy who loved lots of things such as spending time with his friends, fishing, and collecting shoes. One thing that Sean didn't love however was his mother's meatloaf. Sean is loved more than words can say by his entire family. He will be extremely missed; however, he will be living his best life in heaven with his great grandfather as they catch the biggest fish. Sean is survived by his mother and father Jenny and Dave Brading of Piqua; his sister, Ashley (Ben) Schmiesing of West Chester; maternal grandparents, John and Connie Kaiser of Piqua; paternal grandmother, Peggy Brading of Piqua; and his beloved pups Jax and Jasper. He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents, John and Donna Staley; and his paternal grandfather, George Brading. A graveside service to honor his life will begin at 10:00 a. m. Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Miami Memorial Park, Covington with Pastor Ryan Wright officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p. m. Wednesday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In the spirit of Sean's love for shoes, memorial contributions may be made to Just a Pair of Shoes, P. O. Box 1614 Miamisburg, OH 45343. Just a Pair of Shoes was all started by Matt Cline who loved shoes. It gave him a purpose and made him proud to show off who he was. This organization buys nice, name brand shoes and gifts them to children who cannot afford shoes. Salla Ritzhaupt

Salla Ritzhaupt

Age - 22

December 5, 2023

One month before our brilliant, radiant Salla Quinn Ritzhaupt graduated with her BA in Archives summa cum laude from her beloved Antioch College, she fell ill and was later diagnosed with the incredibly rare autoimmune disease, Degos. In spite of the heroic efforts of a dedicated medical team at Miami Valley Hospital, the disease proved too aggressive. She passed December 2, 2023 at Miami County Hospice, Troy Ohio on the same UVMC campus where she was born August 8, 2001. Quinn was very active in the Antioch community as a member of both the gaming and chess clubs. She revived the school newspaper, The Record, with her dear friend Loretta Philip and the infamous Camelot race. She worked at the Olive Kettering Library where she discovered her love for archives and a true mentor in Scott Sanders. She was a Resident Assistant and served on the Library Director search committee. Quinn is survived by her loving and proud parents Kurt and Andi (Bertke), sisters Zoe, Mara, and Nola, paternal grandmother Janalee Ritzhaupt (Fogt), maternal grandparents John Bertke and Linda Elliott (Jim), aunts, uncles, cousins, her partner, David Klasovsky, a group of the most amazing and supportive friends anyone could ask for, and "Aunt" Julie Heffner, who has been a constant in her life since birth. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Dieter Ritzhaupt. She will be remembered by those lucky enough to know her as a gifted writer and debater, a music lover, the most loyal friend and sister who loved fiercely, a quick witted hilarious woman with a contagious laugh. She was the most driven, focused person we have ever known. Quinn changed all of our lives and pushed us to be better people. We will be forever grateful for the time we had with her, even though it was too short. A celebration of Quinn's life will be held at a later date for friends and family. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to donate in Quinn's memory to the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance, P. O. Box 61586 Las Vegas, NV 89160 or His Hands Extended Sanctuary, 1560 Dialton Rd. Catherine Thomas

Catherine Thomas

Age - 93

November 26, 2023

Catherine Earlene Thomas (Katie) passed away peacefully with family by her side on November 19, 2023, at the age of 93. "Katie" was truly a one of a kind. A devoted wife, a devout Christian, a doting mother (of three), grandmother (of six), great grandmother (of eight), an accomplished musician, an adventurous world traveler, a square dancer, a fun but fiercely strategic card player, and a true daredevil (who would often wait in long times to get a seat in the front row of high-speed roller coasters). Although she is profoundly missed, by the grace of God, she is now rejoined with the love of her life, Carl Marion Thomas. She was born on November 25, 1929 to Earl and Olive Winkler of Trotwood, OH. Her birth completed this special family of four by joining her older sister, Jean Winkler Utz. Katie graduated from Trotwood High School at the age of 17. Always a tomboy, Katie loved to play ball and run with the wind. She was an excellent roller skater and often danced in competitions. Katie even took flying lessons as a young girl. She frequently played the piano, and her friends would stand around and sing for hours. Later in life, she took up the organ. Another favorite activity was riding roller coasters, which she continued into her seventies to the delight of her grandchildren. In 1954, Katie married Carl Marion Thomas of Eaton, to Piqua, Ohio. They were married for 67 years. In 1972, she moved from Eaton, Ohio to Piqua. While being a faithful member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Eaton, for 16 years, Katie taught the cherub choir and the vacation Bible School music program. She transferred her membership to St. Paul's Church in Piqua. Here, Katie and Carl sang in the choir together for many years. Katie's love for travel is reflected in the fact she could proudly say she had visited all 50 states and every continent; that is remarkable. For several years, she and Carl led AAA bus tours. Their most memorable vacations were often those taken at Lake James, Indiana, with the whole family. She spent hours either driving the boat or water skiing. Katie also loved to dance. She and Carl would often spend their Saturday nights out dancing or playing euchre. They took up square dancing later in life and it brought them both great joy. Mexican Train was another favorite activity as the years passed. Carl and Katie joined a local group of friends called the McEighties. They met regularly for lunch at McDonalds and became very close. Katie will be most remembered for her high energy, laughter and remarkable intelligence. She is survived by three children, Terry Glennon (Doug), David Thomas (Lisa) and Carla Isaacs (Steve). Grandchildren include Brian Thomas Glennon (Jill), Mark Glennon (Zoey), Brittany Thomas Taylor (Jason), Brandon Thomas (Camilla), Brent Isaacs and Bryany Isaacs. Her great grandchildren include Riley Finn Glennon, Kaitlyn Glennon, Fiona Glennon, Landon Taylor, Grayson Taylor, Kelsey Glennon, Erin Glennon, and Scarlett Thomas, due in February 2024. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Celebration of Life will begin at 11:30 a. m. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at St. Paul's Church with Rev. Dr. Keith Gebhart Officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:30 a. m. , also at the church. Funeral arrangements are being handled through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions, in Katie's name, may be made to St. Paul's Church, 500 N. Downing St, Piqua, OH, 45356 office@stpaulschurch. org.
