Mrs. Saundra Hargis, age 73, of Hope, Arkansas, passed away Monday September 11, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. Saundra was born on July 15, 1950, to J. C. And Vonciel Terry Winemiller. She graduated with a BSE degree from Henderson State University and retired after teaching for more than 28 years. She taught in public schools in Cale, Spring Hill, and Hope, Arkansas, Moore, Oklahoma, and Garrett Memorial Christian School. She also was a member of Unity Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and son, Wade Hargis. Survivors include husband of 54 years, Junior Hargis, daughter, Wendy Cavaneau, husband Nick of Benton, Arkansas, four grandchildren, Drake Hargis, Emma Cavaneau, Win Cavaneau, Lily Cavaneau, a brother, Mike Winemiller, wife Pat of Rosston, Arkansas, nephew Jerod Winemiller, niece Cari Winemiller, and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday September 13, 2023, at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest 1001 South Main Street 71801. A memorial service will be at 10:00am on Thursday September 14, 2023, at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest with Bro. Nick Flowers officiating. ObituaryJohn E. Tallant passed from this life on Friday, November 24th 2023 in Texarkana Texas. John was born March 6, 1945 in Sulphur Springs Texas. He enjoyed being raised on the family farm in Miller Grove Texas with his father Earnest Eugene (Ben) Tallant, mother Marie Burks Tallant and sister Sharon A. Tallant. John was an Army Veteran. He was part of the 32nd and 82nd Airborne. He was awarded two Purple Hearts during his tour in Asia and other honors for his tour in Europe. Once returned back to Texas he began life as an entrepreneur. He was able to fix, build, or work on about anything. He was greatly known by his family as a master of all he attempted. He welcomed a son John Dewayne Tallant as he began his civilian life in East Texas. In 1986 he met the love of his life Elizabeth Faye Hill Tallant in Ashdown. Not only was John willing to partner with Faye, but also her children Connie Henson Neel, Roger, Lynn, and Mark Johnson and their future families that would grow over the next 38 years. John and Faye along with their family located to the Blevins area. John drove a truck many years of their marriage while enjoying being a grandfather. John was known for his larger than life stature that was easily noticed in his overalls. To his grandchildren he was full of wisdom, ability, and strength. Many saw Big Bad John that could be meaner than a rattle snack. He could easily be seen as a hard man to know, but when you got to know him he was a friend for life. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister. He is survived by his loving wife Faye Tallant of DeAnn, children, Dewayne Tallant and Tina Douglas Tallant of Winona Texas, Connie Neel and special friend David of Nashville, Roger Johnson and special friend Christy of Bismarck, Lynn Johnson of DeAnn, and Mark and Sherri Johnson of DeAnn. Grandchildren Katelyn Tallant and husband Jerry, Brendan Tallant all of Winona Texas, Tabitha Hanson and Mike of Sheridan, Katherine Robinson, and Tony of Bismarck, Justin Neel and Heather of Mount Ida, Cody Johnson and Heather of Blevins, Haile Fisk and Jared of Benton, Kyle Johnson and Morgan of DeAnn, Taylor Johnson, and Delilah Johnson of Bismarck. Great Grandchildren Drake and Corbin Mason, Kaden and Harlyn Johnson, Bentley and Avery Johnson, Lucus, William, Allie, and Josie Robinson, and Beckett, Brodie, and Brynleigh Fisk. Dorothy Louise Slaten, 80, of Texarkana, Arkansas, passed away on November 17, 2023. She was born on July 27, 1943, in Hope, Arkansas, to Robert and Nellie Pearl Wilson. Dorothy was a member of Calvary Tabernacle in Queen City, Texas. She enjoyed spending her time working in her yard and planting flowers in her younger years. Most recently, she enjoyed getting her nails and hair done and going shopping. She spent many hours with her son-in-law, David, and came to cherish his friendship. He was her "preferred" caregiver and was always around to put a smile on her face- their relationship in her last days was truly something wonderful. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Slaten; father of her children, Curtis Bearden; two grandsons, Curtis Bishop, and Josh Bishop; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her son, Bobby Bearden and wife Robin; two daughters, Janet Gatlin and husband David, and JoAnn Lansdell and husband Billy; six grandchildren, Justin Lansdell and wife Brandie, Jamie Lansdell and wife Jessie, Monya Henry and husband Greg, Rebecca Lansdell, Joey Bearden, and Robbie Bearden; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, Phyllis Malone, Jerry Wilson, and Brenda Downs; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. The family of Dorothy Slaten will be holding a Graveside Memorial service on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 10:00 A. M. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hope, Arkansas. (1005 N.
