G. was a retired construction worker who worked in Dallas before retiring in 1990. E. G. received Christ in his life at a young age and was a member of the East Oak Street Church of Christ in Edgewood, Texas. He is known for his sense of humor and his thoughtfulness. He was a wise person who always had a kind word to share. He enjoyed playing dominos with his family and friends while listening to music. E. G. will be remembered as a funny, thoughtful, and wise individual. E. G. is survived by four brothers, C. G. Maroney, Randy Shaw, Bruce Gipson, and Robert Wayne Gipson; five sisters, Mary Hamilton, Patricia Smiley, Janice Bell, and Nicole Luckey; special aunts, Annie Antia and Emma Elie; special cousins Sylvester Spencer, Jr. and Jimmy Dale Spencer; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amile and Fannie Mae Maroney. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point, Texas. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home Chapel. "Little Man" Payne.Charles was a loving husband to his wife, Rita Payne, whom he married on February 4, 1983, in Durant, OklahomaCharles had a fulfilling career as a bomb technician and controlled explosives specialist with the Garland Police Department, where he was highly respected and nationally recognized. He retired from the department in 2016. He was a proud member of the Texas Tactical Police Officers Association, Garland Police Officers Association, and IABTA.Outside of his career, Charles enjoyed farming, working with his hands, and spending time with his grandchildren. He had a passion for the country life and took pleasure in raising pygmy goats and baling hay. Charles was known for his humor, intelligence, and loving nature.He was a devoted father to his son, Charles Thomas Payne II, and his wife, Allison, and his daughter, Brittany Bennett, and her husband, Nick Bennett. Charles was also a cherished grandfather to his three grandchildren, Charles Thomas Payne III, Alivia Payne, and Kinley Bennett. He is survived by his mother, Betty Payne, his brothers, John Payne and wife, Karen, and Anthony Payne and wife, Pam, his sister, Linda Payne, and his brother-in-law, Alan Richman and wife, Rhonda. Charles was preceded in death by his father, A. H. Jimmie was preceded in death by his father, James Alvoy Owens, his mother, Dollie Fouse, his step-father Roy Gilreath, his mother-in-law, Virginia Cober, his father-in-law, Walter Cober, and his grandparents, Mary Ann Owens and Lonnie and Josie Lucky.Jimmie graduated from WW Samuel High School as part of the Class of 1972 and furthered his education at the University of Texas at Arlington. Phillip was a self-employed contractor, dedicating his life to his work. He was known for his craftsmanship and attention to detail. His clients and Judy always appreciated him and his expertise and building whatever was needed or mentioned. Outside of work, Phillip had a zest for life. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and singing, always making sure his voice was heard by everyone around him. His hobbies brought him joy and allowed him to unwind. Phillip will be remembered for his thoughtful nature, kindness, and energetic spirit. He touched the lives of many with his warm personality and genuine care for others. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Kanady Shackelford, and his children: Phillip Shackelford Jr. and wife Nicole, Jolly Shackelford and wife Stephanie, Jerry Shackelford and wife Tracey, Dedra Twiner and husband Darren, as well as bonus children: Will James, Sunny James and wife Angel, Deborah Martin and husband David. He also leaves behind 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gaynell Shackelford, who he held dear in his heart. On January 18, 2024, Sharon (Cook) Eaton went home to her Heavenly father. Sharon Gaye Cook was born June 26, 1942, in Burkburnett, Texas to parents William Doyle Cook and Leafy Dell (Beck) Cook. Sharon graduated from Big Springs High School in 1960 and was then married to Robert Glenn Eaton three years later in 1963. Sharon then graduated from Mr. B’s Beauty School in 1966. Sharon and Robert moved to Edgewood, Texas with their two children Tonya and Landon in 1970. It was in Edgewood that they opened “Eaton’s Drive In Grocery”, a local gas station/convenience store. Later, Sharon opened “Hair Patterns by Sharon” a local hair styling salon and barber shop. Sharon was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Edgewood and was very active in the worship music program, she later attended Seven Oaks Baptist Church in Wills Point, TX. Sharon is survived by her sister Candy Ingall who lives in Whitney, Texas, her daughter Tonya (Eaton) and husband Dean Stoltzfus living in Edgewood, Texas and her son, Landon Eaton living in Denton, Texas. Sharon has eight grandchildren: Taylor Carter, Gabriel Stoltzfus, Braylin Stoltzfus, Brandon Eaton, Griffin Eaton, Ashleigh Eaton, Landry Eaton, Davis Eaton.
