Sarah Hensley Miles, 98, of Marietta, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023. The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 11:30am in the chapel of Marietta Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and visitors for two hours prior to the service. Mrs. Miles will be laid to rest at Marietta National Cemetery in Marietta, Georgia. Samuel Curens Lybrand Jr, 56 of Acworth, Ga, sadly left us December 4, 2023. Sam was born in Abington, Pennsylvania on March 20, 1967. He grew up in Roslyn, PA, where he explored and adventured in the same area as his parents' childhoods. Family was central to his life, and he enjoyed his time with his fun and loving relatives, as well as friends who became like family. Sam graduated from Abington High School in 1985. After graduation Sam became a CDL driver and had a passion for trucks, cars, and motorcycles. He especially enjoyed attending all types of car shows, and delighted in his father's car collection. He was a talented mechanic who could figure out complex problems and repair them. He liked to know how things worked. Sam had a special love of animals, especially the pet cats he cared for through the years. Sam was a kind, sensitive person with a great sense of humor. He had a quick wit and the best laugh. He loved his mother's homemade Italian cooking and cherished being an uncle to his sister's children and grandchild. He was a great patriot, humanitarian, and a loyal friend. Sam relocated to Acworth Georgia in 2007 from Philadelphia and resided with his mother and stepfather. Sam is survived by his parents; Mother, Ann (Bill) Henderson; Father, Sam (Irene) Lybrand; Sister, Michelle (Russell) Fincher; Stepsisters, Jaima (John) McCabe, and Jacque Loudon; Niece Emma (Ricky) Le; Great niece, Genevieve Ann Le; Nephews Ethan Fincher, and Evan Fincher; and a loving family of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends. He is preceded in death by Grandparents, Pasquale and Mary Giannone, and beloved Uncle and Aunt, James and Beryl Foxall. Sam is greatly loved, deeply missed. A Memorial Service of Sam's life and the love his family has for him is December 10, 2023, 1:00pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. Barbara (Barb) Onnalee Rey Weagly, age 82, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2023. She was born April 8, 1941 in Sandusky, OH to Ellsworth Philip Rey and Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Rey. She married her college sweetheart and love, William Robert Weagly, on June 29, 1963. Barbara was a devout Christian and an active member of the Big Canoe Chapel, in Big Canoe, GA, where she cherished being a member of the choir and volunteering for different programs. She also enjoyed reading and being a member of book club. Barbara was born and raised in Sandusky, OH where she attended Sandusky High School and later graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Barbara's career background was in education. Before having her children, Barbara was an English teacher for the Columbus, OH school district. Once her children entered high school, Barbara worked at the Media Center at Walton High School in Marietta, Georgia, where she enjoyed interacting with students. Barbara is survived by her husband of 60+ years, William Robert Weagly, and her two daughters, Christine (Chris) E. Barron - married to Van Barron, and Laura L. Fite -married to Whitney Fite. Barbara was a devoted and proud grandmother to her 6 grandchildren - Max Barron, Corporal Cole Barron (US Army) and Trip Barron; Morgan Fite, Dylan Fite and Lauren Fite Markle. Barbara is a sister to Mary Frances (Fran) Ripley and Georgia Elizabeth Anthony (deceased). She also has many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 1pm with a reception to follow at the Big Canoe Chapel, located at 226 Wolfscratch Circle, Big Canoe, GA 30143. Doug Womack passed away on November 24, 2023, at the age of 39 in Acworth, Georgia. Born on September 6, 1984, in Marietta, Georgia, Doug was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend who cherished his family above all else. Doug was a remarkable father, always going above and beyond for his children. He took great joy in being actively involved in their lives, supporting them in their sports and extracurricular activities. As a dedicated baseball coach in Acworth, he made a lasting impact on the lives of the kids he mentored, providing a safe and encouraging environment for them to grow and excel. Doug had a magnetic personality that lit up any room he entered. His genuine kindness and infectious sense of humor made him a beloved figure among his friends and family. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone around him feel valued and loved. Working for AECOM in the traffic industry, Doug was known for his strong work ethic. Outside of work, he had a passion for college football, particularly the South Carolina Gamecocks. He is survived by his loving wife, Lauren Womack, their children Laci Neville, Braelynn Womack, Lillie Womack, Grayson Womack, and Garrett Womack, his father, Larry Womack Sr. , his mother, Sandra Womack, his sister, Rebekah Day, and his grandmother, Louise Williams, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Doug's presence will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. A Memorial Service in honor of Doug's life will be held on December 1, 2023, at 5:00 pm at Northstar Church in Acworth. Bobbye Johnson Mooney, 90, of Acworth, Georgia, surrounded by her family, left her earthly home to enter her heavenly home to join her Savior on November 25, 2023. She was a dedicated Christian who loved her Lord and worshiped at Highland Park United Methodist Church (Richmond VA) for 70 years until she moved to Kennesaw, GA and worshiped at County Line United Methodist Church for 20 years. She loved her churches, sang in the choir, was a devoted Sunday School teacher and bible study and youth leader for decades and a shining example of loving and living for Jesus. Bobbye was born in Richmond, Virginia December 29, 1932. She graduated from John Marshall High School and played in the marching band. She loved music and later in life helped create, and became a member of, The Merry Music Makers playing her clarinet in the band through out Virginia. After business college she began her career at American Tobacco Co in Richmond where she met her husband. She often said her future husband saw her changing a flat tire on her car in the parking lot and he thought "that's the woman for me!" She left American Tobacco to raise their two children. When it came time for Robin and Robert to attend school she became a Richmond City school bus driver so she could drive them to school. She was a favorite bus driver for decades for students with special needs. Her students call her for years after she retired in 1986. Bobbye was a very dedicated Christian with a zest for life. She was always the life of the party. Her sense of humor was infectious and her bright blue eyes and smile lit up the room. She loved horse back riding (had horses for 57 years), camping, motorcycles (bought her first for herself for her 40th birthday), water skiing, jet skiing, loved her pontoon boat watching sunsets and sitting on her screened front porch of her lake home on Lake Gaston in Virginia for almost 30 years. She loved her family gatherings and the outdoors. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt, great aunt and soon to be a great grandmother. Bobbye moved from Richmond VA in 2004 to Kennesaw, GA to be with her son and daughter-in-law and their four young daughters whom she loved and cherished being a Grandma. Bobbye was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Doris (Mooney) Johnson; her husband of 19 years, Willard Taylor Mooney; a brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Fran Johnson; a sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Howard Glasco; a niece, Judy Glasco; and a great niece, Christy Morgan. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Robin Mooney Young (Glen); her son, Robert Willard Mooney (Elizabeth); granddaughters, Beth Mooney Jay (Thomas), Emily, Natalie, and Alyson Mooney; and her first great grand baby, a boy, James Austin Jay to be born December 6, 2023; two nieces, Nancy Jackson (Tom) and Janet McDougle (Grayson); a nephew, Ricky Glasco (Ginny); and many great nieces and nephews and cousins whom she loved and was loved. Funeral services will be held December 1, 2023 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Road, at 12 noon. Visitation will begin at 11 am prior to the service. Internment immediately following the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Richmond. A celebration of her life will be held in her home church of County Line United Methodist Church in Acworth, GA in January 2024. Date to be announced.
