"Sara Cloyce Hogue, born on April 30, 1936, in Dumas, MS, left this world for her Heavenly home on September 9, 2023. She passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany, MS, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. Sara was the beloved wife of her late husband, Gerald R. Hogue, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Lana Hogue Wise, and her grandchildren she adored, Claire, Sam (Megan), and Sara Grace Wise. She was also blessed with and survived by a great-grandson, Rydge Wise, whose brought her immeasurable delight. Sara Cloyce was born to the late William Alvie Hodges and Velma Beaty Hodges. She shared a deep bond with her brothers and sister. She is survived by brothers Joe Hodges (Marilyn) and Donald Hodges (Donna). She was preceded in death by brothers Junior Hodges, James Roy Hodges, Watson Hodges, Ross Hodges, Alton Hodges and Milton Eugene Hodges (infant) and one sister, Mary Eloise Hodges Hines. Throughout her working career, Sara Cloyce worked many years as a dedicated furniture upholstery supervisor. She worked at Brookwood furniture in Pontotoc, then completed her working years at Landmark Furniture Company, also in Pontotoc until retirement. She touched many lives her years of serving in the furniture industry. Sara\u0027s faith was an integral part of her life, as she found solace and happiness as a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She drew strength from her spirituality and found comfort in the presence of her fellow church members. Although she was unable to attend church physically the past 5 years, she tried to remain an active member while at home and enjoyed all the meals and reading literature that was brought to her by various members of the congregation over the years. She loved her church and her church family immensely. Known for her infectious laughter and warm smile, Sara had an incredible ability to bring joy to those around her. She possessed a remarkable keen sense of humor and found happiness in making others smile. Her kindness, compassion, and genuine love for people endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Pallbearers for her service will be Sam Wise, Tony Hodges, Roy W Hodges, James E Davis, Lamar Hines and Dennis Hines. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 13th, 2023, from 1-3 at United Funeral Service, with her final celebration of life service to follow immediately at 3:00 in the United Funeral Service Chapel, in New Albany, MS. Services will be led by Rev. Don Wilson and Rev. Jerry King. With joy and belief in our hearts, this visitation and service isn't Goodbye my friends and family. . . this is simply See You Later. "
