Sandra S. Landrum, 67, of Rittman, died Sunday, September 10, 2023, at her residence following a period of declining health. She was born August 3, 1956 in Canton to the late Alvin and Betty (Pamer) Nieman and has lived in Rittman most of her life. Sandy graduated from Rittman High School in the class of 1974 and was employed by the Apostolic Christian Village in Rittman and also worked for Skillbuilders in Wadsworth. She enjoyed scrapbooking, canning and gardening. Surviving is her son, Joseph Landrum; and sister, Shari (Jim) Hileman. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Joshua Alan; and brothers, Alan and Michael Nieman. Per Sandra's wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no services at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr. , Rittman, OH 44270 to help defray funeral expenses.

Marcy was born on July 24, 1958, in Wadsworth, Ohio, to the late Duane and Patricia (Little) Ryland and married Tim Taylor. She graduated from Rittman High School in 1977 and worked as a dental assistant. Marcy was a member of Rittman United Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to the beach, and spending time with her family and grandkids. Surviving are son, Jaime Taylor of Fayetteville, NC; daughter, Cassidy Taylor of Fayetteville, NC; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; two sisters, Robin Ryland of Rittman, and Dana Dysinger of Sterling. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Rittman Cemetery in Rittman.Show more

Bonita Britton

Bonita "Bonnie" Lee Britton, 79, of Rittman, died Sunday, September 24, 2023 at her residence. Bonnie was born April 28, 1944 in Connellsville, PA to James and Joan {Cane} Pritts. She married Melvin Britton on November 18, 1980. He died April 14, 2016. Bonnie worked for Rittman city schools. She attended Liberty Freewill Baptist Church. Bonnie really enjoyed gardening, she was a really good cook and was well known for her chicken and homemade noodles. Bonnie will be deeply missed by her children Marlene, Kathy, Debbie, Juanita, Jodie, Matt, Mark; step-children Belinda, Chris, Melvin Jr. and Tonnie; 24 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters Dolores; special friend's Brenda Elliot, Chris Daubenmire; daughter-in-law Cheryl Heater and Fur Baby Lena. Bonnie was preceded in death by her Husband Melvin, Sons George and Jimmy and step-daughter Julie. Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville is assisting the family. Wadsworth -- Inge M. Single, age 86, of Wadsworth, formerly of Rittman, died Thursday, September 14, 2023, at The Village of St. Edward at Fairlawn in Akron, following a period of declining health. Inge was born on December 12, 1936, in Berlin, Germany to the late Paul and Erna (Wellnitz) Noelte and went to business school in Berlin and then to London to study English for a year in 1961. She married David on April 30, 1966, in Barberton. David survives. She worked as a Office Manager for McKesson Corporation. Inge enjoyed traveling and going on cruises and has been in 27 different countries. In addition to David, she is survived by her cousin who was more like a sister, Johanna Buttrum of Washington DC. Jeffrey David Smith, age 51, of Rittman, died Thursday, September 7, 2023, at his home in Rittman, following a long period of declining health. Jeff was born on September 29, 1971, in Orrville, to the late Diana (Anderson) Smith, graduated from Chippewa High School in 1990, and married Tonya Travis on June 9, 1995, in Akron. Tonya died on December 19, 2008. He worked as a Therapeutic Program Worker, first for Apple Creek Developmental Center, then for Mount Vernon Developmental Center for a total of 20 years, retiring in 2007 due to disability. Jeff enjoyed hunting, wood burning, and animals and he loved fishing. He will be remembered as the world's sweetest man that would help anyone when he could. Surviving are his daughter, Micaela Gabrielle (Andrew Passmore) Smith of Barberton; aunts and uncles, David (Debbie) Anderson of Holly Springs, NC, Barbara Anderson of Barberton; eleven cousins, Celena Anderson of Raleigh, NC, Kristine Beltz of Akron, Daren (Sheri) Beltz of Wooster, Daryl (Angela) Beltz of Reynoldsburg, Lori (Tom) Prather of Wadsworth, Erin (Aaron) Lewis of New Franklin, Tracie (Bruce) Cornelius of Rittman, Melissa (Ray) Rayos of San Antonio, TX, Bryant (Dennise) Anderson of Rittman, Kerrie Anderson of Orrville, and Jill Anderson of Athens. Teresa L. Cupp, 49, of Rittman, died Friday, August 25, 2023 at Akron City Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Barberton to Robert and Linda (Wilford) Beres and has lived in Rittman most of her life. Teresa was a 1992 graduate of Chippewa High School. Following graduation, she attended Akron School of Nursing and became a certified Medical Technician. She married Doug Cupp on December 11, 1992 and he survives. She loved spending time with her family, especially her sons, Brandon and Dillon. Teresa was extremely gifted at crocheting and enjoyed her animals, doing nails, listening to music and reading. Surviving is her husband, Doug; sons, Brandon and Dillon Cupp; parents, Robert and Linda Beres; sister, Kim (Ray) Rigas; brother, Patrick (Sherri) Beres; and niece, Liberty Rigas. Tonya Bishop, 45, of Rittman, passed away August 18, 2023 at her residence. Tonya was born June 21, 1978 in Wadsworth, Ohio to Roger and Susan {Hickling} Markley. She graduated from Rittman High School and attended the Wayne County Career Center, Tonya was also studying to be an RN. She married her ex husband Kevin Bishop on August 5, 2000. Tonya worked in home health care. She loved doing arts and crafts with her children, piecing puzzles together with her daughter and playing tabletop games. Tonya will be deeply missed by her ex husband; mother Susan, children Darren Bishop, Kayli Bishop; grandchildren Stella Bishop; sisters Crystal Markley and numerous friends and nieces. Joyce A. Williams, 63, of Rittman, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 30, 2023, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 30, 1959 in Bedford to the late Robert and Marjorie (Cummins) Riehl and lived most of her life in the Rittman area. Joyce graduated from Hudson High School in the class of 1977 and received her bachelor's degree from Kent State University and her master's degree from Ashland University. She married Jack A. Williams November 18, 1989 and they have been happily married for 33 years; he survives. Joyce was a Minister and Christian Education Director in the Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, photography, golfing and traveling. She visited all 50 states. Surviving is her husband, Jack; children, Cory (Arielle) Williams and Rhiannon (Jules) Eckroth; grandchild, Elton Williams; and sister, Jackie Grey. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Jerry, June and Janice. Services will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 12:00 p. m. at Rittman United Methodist Church, 211 N. Linda L. Nolt, age 67, of Rittman, died Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Summa Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital in Wadsworth, following a period of declining health. Linda was born on September 1, 1955, in Wadsworth, Ohio, to the late Glen and Eldine (Walters) Nolt and graduated from Rittman High School in 1973. She then got her bachelor's degree in education from Grace College in Winona Lake, IN. in 1977. She worked as a 2nd & 3rd grade teacher for Rittman Elementary. Linda was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Rittman where she was a Sunday school teacher and a steward. She enjoyed going on bus trips, teaching, walking at the rec. center with her friends, and spending time with her family. Surviving are brother, Gary Nolt of Rittman, aunt Ruth, and numerous cousins. Jeffrey A. Newman, 73, of Rittman, passed away on June 8th after a tough battle with cancer. Jeffrey was born on June 17th, 1949, to Lois A. (Kane) and Raymond E. Newman and raised in Bay Village, Ohio. In 1969 after graduating high school, he served our country in the Army overseas in the Vietnam War. Following his service, he worked for 25 years at United Airlines where he met his wife. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen (Kelly) Newman; children, Scott E. , Genevieve R. , Phiala J. , and Bridget M. ; and his much-loved grandchildren, Chase and John Lesher. A Celebration of Life will be held, Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 1:00pm at Cox- McNulty Funeral Home, 1376 High Street, Wadsworth.
