Sandra Lynn Dillard, age 76, met Jesus face to face on Thursday, October 5 2023, after battling a long illness. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She was a UT sports fan, especially UT women's sports. She enjoyed watching game shows and old westerns. She liked to be outside and feel the warm sun on her face. Most of all she loved Jesus and her family. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her. Anyone that met her loved her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronald J. Dillard; her parents, Brumley and Ruby Morgan; sisters, Sue Kenyon and Kathy Morgan; brother, Donald Morgan; and great-grandchildren angel babies, Leeland and Fitz Dillard. Surviving are her daughter, Penney (Tim) Davis; son, "Buddy" (Tonia) Dillard; daughter, Misty (Richard) Lyons; grandchildren, Ashlynn (David) Gillenwater, Amanda Davis Jackson, Zachary (Katie) Dillard, Austin (Mandy) Dillard, Noah (Brittany) Dillard, Allen Lyons and Sam Lyons; great-grandchildren, Jackson Trent, Maylee Gillenwater, Ella Gillenwater, Isaiah Jackson, June Dillard, Daisy Dillard, Kyler Gillenwater, Hardin Tapp, and Lucy Dillard; sister, Teresa (Danny) Carter; and special sister Marie (Don) Morgan; very special friends, Patsy Dykes and Troy and Mary Gatlin; several nieces and nephews. The family will have a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 21 2023, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. Visitation with the family will be at Penney Davis house on Saturday evening following the service. Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill is proudly serving the Dillard family.

Virgie Wallen, 88, of Church Hill, TN, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the home. Virgie was born one of many children to Truman France and Martha Hart France in Copper Creek, Virginia. Growing up, she attended Tipton Chapel in Copper Creek. Virgie married Ed Wallen and the couple enjoyed over fifty years together. They had four children, Tim, Gary, Larry, and Hughie. Virgie was a good cook who enjoyed serving her family and always had plenty for them to eat. She was also a gardener and enjoyed preparing the fruits of her labors for others to enjoy as well. In addition to her parents, Virgie is preceded in death by her sons, Tim Wallen, Gary Wallen, Hughie Wallen; step-children, Franklin Wallen, Jerry Wallen; Audrey Wallen Elswick; brothers, Carl France, Dee France, June France, McArthur France; sisters, Annie Hashbarger, Hassie France, Evelyn Estep. Those left to cherish Virgie's memory are her son, Larry Wallen; daughter-in-law, Kaye Smith Wallen; step-son, David "Cotton" Wallen (Darlene); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including special grandchildren, Matt Wallen (Kristy) and Jimmy Wallen, Heather Holder (Chris) and Josh Davidson (Rachel); special great-granddaughters, Kaydance Shaffer and Cassandra Wallen "Hotrod"; sister, Nell Akers; numerous nieces and nephews, including special nephews, Johnny Wallen (Heather), Chris Wallen (April), David Estep (Tammy); special niece, Rita France. Stephanie had a passion for people and never met a stranger. She taught her first Bible study at 12 and continued to teach them throughout the years. Her greatest blessings in life were her two children, Justin and Courtney and her soon to be grandchild due in April! After many years of schooling, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a Registered Nurse! A job she excelled at with her love for people. Stephanie gave all that she had to anyone in need and always wanted everyone to feel loved. She was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Stephanie was preceded in death by her husband Donald R. Terry; and her father, Darell K. Barker. She is survived by her husband, Paul E. Evans; son, Justin Terry and wife Rachel; daughter, Courtney Terry; mother, Kathy G. Barker; sister and brothers-in-law, Suzanne N. Eaves and husband Ronnie, and Jerry Evans; nieces and nephews, Ashtyn, Braxton, Kynzlee, Tyler, Camdyn, Felicity, and Latara; and her mother-in-law, Linda Evans. From her first marriage she is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Ryan Terry and wife Ashley, Kaitlyn Cliburn and husband Seth; and her mother and father-in-law, Donald and Sandy Terry. Along with a host of friends and extended family. The family will receive friends from 10am to 11am on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Christian Life Center UPC. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Jeremy Damesworth and Pastor James Greever officiating. Graveside services will follow at Holston View Cemetery.
