Sandra "Sandi" Buerger, beloved wife of 53 years to Bob Buerger, loving mother to Karen Sullivan, Carly (Eli) Budelman, and Eric Buerger, devoted "Gammy" to Cole Sullivan, Owen Budelman, and Ellie Budelman, passed away on October 5th, in the comfort of her home at the age of 74 Sandi lived her life for those she loved, always prioritizing both her family, and her work-family Sandi held the title of Business Office Manager for The Fountains at Crystal Lake for 20+ years She adored both her co-workers and the residents alike and retired last fall when she became physically unable to continue Sandi cherished vacations in Anna Maria Island with family, spending time with her grandchildren, baking the most extravagant birthday cakes to celebrate her many loved ones, and being the steadfast rock of her family Free People clothing's favorite customer, Sandi was easily the most stylish in the room; beautifully unique in every way Sandi courageously battled a lengthy illness with cancer and eventually Paraneoplastic Syndrome To honor her tremendous struggle, her family respectfully asks that donations be made to the National Organization for Rare Disorders in lieu of flowers Paraneoplastic research is desperately needed in order to identify this rare disorder early and effectively Her family's goal is to help provide cancer patients and their families with education and treatment interventions to combat this formidable disease For those who wish to donate, you can do so online at or via mail at NORD, Inc - Donations Dept 5930 P O Box 4110 Woburn, MA 01888 Sandi's impact on her husband, kids, grandkids, and friends will forever live on She will be deeply missed in a million ways, each and every day Per Sandi's wishes, a celebration of life will commence at a later date at her family home, poolside, with her famous chocolate martinis, her infamous county music, and the company of those who loved her most
