"San Juanita Vasquez, 60, a lifetime resident of Mercedes, Texas, went to be with our Lord, Saturday, May 06, 2023. San Juanita is survived by her loving family, mother: Lydia Alaniz, daughters: Christina (Nestor) Romero, Dominga (Derli) Gudino, Lupita (Lupe) Chavez, Claribel Vasquez, Jennifer (Oscar) Zurita, Yolanda (Anselmo) Granados, and her son: Jorge (Belen) Soto, Brothers and sisters: Miguel, Beatriz Alaniz, Jesus (Maria Victoria) Alaniz, Gloria (Graciano) Carrizalez, Elida Alaniz, Esmerelda (Felix) Cantu, Margarita Alaniz, Lorenzo (Sonia) Alaniz, Ricardo (Olga) Alaniz, and Alejandro Alaniz. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. She is preceded in death by her husband: Rafael Vasquez, and her father, Lorenzo Alaniz. Her passions in life were her children, family gatherings, gardening, her puppies, and scratch off tickets. She was very compassionate, and funny, she was loved by all. Visitation for San Juanita will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 12:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. with two rosaries to be recited at 6:00 p. m. and 7:00 p. m. Funeral services will be Wednesday May 10, 2023 with a Chapel service at Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Mercedes, Texas, beginning at 10:00 a. m. following a departure at 10:45 a. m. directly to Sacred Park Cemetery. All services are under the care and direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home of Mercedes, Texas. "
