Samuel Justin Rambo, 32, of Raysal, WV passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023. Samuel was born October 30, 1990 in Thomasville, NC a son of Donna Woodlief Rambo and the late George Rambo. In addition to his father, Geroge Rambo, Samuel was preceded in death by one sister, Tanya Lynn Rambo. Survivors include his mother, Donna Rambo of Raysal, WV; one son, Tristen Hunter Rambo; one brother, George Allen Rambo of Lexington, NC; one aunt, Bonnie Rambo; and one cousin, Brandon Rambo. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 8, 2023 at 1 o'clock with Pastor Corey Smith officiating at the Upon the Rock Ministry in Bradshaw, WV. Burial will follow in the Rambo Cemetery at Otter Branch near Avondale, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Theodore "Marty" Blankenship, 66, of Raysal, West Virginia passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2023, at Ballad Health Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee surrounded by his loving family. Born June 23, 1957, in Iaeger, West Virginia, Marty was the son of the late Ted and Darcus Webb BlankenshipMarty grew up in the Three Forks area where he stayed till recent years. In his early years he was a coal miner and a timber cutter. He enjoyed hunting, ginsenging, gardening, pitching horseshoes and being with his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Margie Lea Blankenship. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 48 years, Connie Blankenship, of the home; Sons: Mark Blankenship and wife Wiononia of Honaker, Virginia and Christopher Blankenship and wife Whitney of Richlands, Virginia; One daughter: Stephanie Bailey and husband Russell of Bradshaw, West Virginia. Amanda Ann Ferrell, 82, of Raysal, WV went to her Heavenly Home late Friday evening, July 7, 2023. Amanda was born March 8, 1941 in Avondale, WV a daughter of the late Ewing and Lillian Workman Muncy. Amanda was a homemaker, a wonderful cook, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was very devoted to her family giving them her time and attention but most of all her love. Amanda enjoyed four wheeling, picnics and fishing; she was affiliated with the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. In addition to her parents, Ewing and Lillian Muncy, Amanda was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Lee Ferrell; an infant daughter, Brenda Lou Ferrell, a granddaughter, Christian Ann Wolford; a great grandson, Nathaniel Wolford; four sisters, Doodle Muncy, Stella Wroten, Della Mae Branscome and Silthy Hatfield; and two brothers, Larry Muncy and Ira Ed Muncy. Those left to cherish her memory are seven children, Edward Lee Ferrell and wife Rita of Raysal, WV, Nellie Ruth Hagerman and husband Thomas of Avondale, WV; Shelby Dawson and husband Leonard of Raysal, WV, Flora Kay Wolford and husband Danny of Abbs Valley, VA, Marvin Edward Ferrell of Raysal, WV, Stella Mae Jones of Bradshaw, WV and James Matthew Ferrell and wife Patricia of Princeton, WV; 21 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and one on the way; one sister, Lutishie Loomis of Columbus, OH, and one brother, Everett Muncy of Avondale, WV; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family extends a special thank you to her Hospice nurse, Nancy Schrader. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 12 noon with Reverend Danny Bowles and Reverend John Wheeler officiating at the Independent Church of God at Avondale, WV. Jan was born August 16, 1969, in Welch, WV a daughter of the late Thomas and Barbara Christian Jenks. In addition to her parents Jan was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Marie Mullins, Patricia Jenks and Barbara Steele; one brother, Andy Lee Jenks; her maternal grandparents, Mary Bell Jenks and Andy Underwood and her paternal grandmother, Ethel Christian. Survivors include her husband, Timothy Blankenship of the home; three sons, Andrew Jenks of Pea Patch, VA, Dustin Byer of the home; and Derik (Samantha) Little of Ocean Cove, NJ; two brothers, Tommy (Deniece) Jenks of Raysal and Donald (Martha) Jenks of War, WV; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Born to the late Elzie Vance and Barbara Hicks Vance on July 16, 1970 in Welch, West Virginia. Sherry was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who greatly enjoyed and cherished the moments spent with her grandkids. Sherry was preceded in passing by her father, Elzie Vance; brother, Everett Vance; as well as two stepchildren, Eric Burton and Stevie Burton. He was a disabled coal miner; a member of the Atwell Mountain United Church of God, a loving, caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and brother-in-law; and enjoyed to ginseng. In addition to his parents Alvie was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice Sweeney Rose; one son, Alvie Dewayne Rose; two sisters, Edna Sweeney and Ruby Pruett; four brothers, Bob, Larry, Earl and Dave Rose and two granddaughters, Crystal Mullins and Arianna Rose. Bobby Ray Rose, 78, of Raysal, WV, gained his wings and entered his eternal home on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY following a short illness. Bob was born July 10, 1943 a son of the late Reverend Harless and Mary Matney Rose. Bob retired from the McDowell County Board of Education after driving a school bus for 30 years. He was also a member of the Atwell Mountain United Church of God. In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Sweeney and Ruby Pruitt and three brothers, Larry, David and Earl Rose. Survivors include his loving wife, Marie (Hale) Rose of 54 years; one daughter, Debbie Stiltner and husband Donald of Jolo, WV; one grandson, Jacob Stiltner, whom he loved dearly and was his pride and joy. Bob was a papaw to many children. He is also survived by two brothers, Bud Rose of Raysal and Ernest (Joan) Rose both of Atwell; two sisters, Betty Sweeney and Sarah Price both of Atwell; and a host of nieces and nephews who were very special to him. Chloe was born June 10, 1935, at Rockridge, WV, a daughter of the late Troutman and Martha Kennedy Roberts. She was a home maker and a member of the Church of God; she loved her Lord Jesus. Chloe loved her cats and her neighbors Donna Puckett and Connie Deel. In addition to her parents Chloe was preceded in death by one son, Charles Leffew; one brother, William Ben Roberts, two sisters, Lottie Short and Frances Sims; and one great granddaughter, Leara Lowe.
