In Memoriam: Christopher John Kocher (January 10, 1962 - December 2, 2023) Pembroke Pines, Florida Christopher John Kocher, a beloved husband, father, brother, and dedicated community member, passed away on December 2, 2023, at the age of 61. Born in Muswell Hill, England, Chris lived a life filled with passion, service, and commitment to family. Chris was born to Margaret McCarthy and John Kocher on January 10, 1962. He attended Peabody Veterans Memorial High School and later pursued higher education at Salem State College. Following his academic pursuits, Chris proudly served in the US Army, dedicating his time to Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division at Fort Ord, California. After his military service, Chris established himself as a successful business owner, leading Arctic Dry Ice, Inc for 20 years. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to excellence left a lasting impact on the community he served. In June 2003, Chris married the love of his life, Dayna Kocher, in a beautiful ceremony in Pembroke Pines, FL. Their union was a testament to love, commitment, and partnership. Beyond his professional achievements, Chris was a passionate advocate for youth sports, dedicating over 18 years as a coach for baseball, soccer, and basketball. He was a lifetime hockey player and a proud member of USA hockey, playing with the SMPHL Team known as the "Uncoachables" for 20 years. . Chris is preceded in death by his Mother Margaret McCarthy, Stepfather Daniel McCarthy, Father John Kocher, Brother Simon Kocher, Aunts Joyce and Audrey, Uncle Lionel, and Father-in-Law Anthony Sorrentino. He is survived by his loving Wife Dayna Kocher, and their cherished Son Alex Kocher, the apple of his eye. Chris is also survived by his Sister Diane Crane (Joseph), Brothers Kenny Kocher (Nancy) and Roy Kocher (Traci), Nephew Brent Kocher, Cousins Allison Maggio, Tracy Magrino (Mike), Dan and Joseph Magrino, Steve (Sue), Frank, Melissa, Oliver and Nick, and Jason Lansley (Jakki), Aunt Barbara, and Mother-in-Law Dawn Sorrentino. A celebration of Chris's life will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Fred Hunter's Hollywood Funeral, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the entire medical team that supported Chris during his challenging time, as well as to friends, family, and the FAU football team for their unwavering support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society in Chris's memory. In loving memory of Maureen Johnson, a cherished member of the Davie community, who peacefully passed away on December 1st, 2023, at the age of 68. Born on September 15th, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois, Maureen was the beloved daughter of the late Bill and Jackie Mitchell. With a dedicated career spanning over 33 years, she imparted knowledge and inspiration to countless students at A. C. Perry Elementary School in Miramar. Maureen's passion extended beyond the classroom; she found joy in immersing herself in literature, solving jigsaw puzzles on her iPad, and sharing delightful meals with her dear friends. Preceding her in death are her sister Kathy Mitchell and brother Pat Mitchell. Maureen is fondly remembered and survived by her sisters Kathy Mitchell and her husband Pat, as well as Lori Grabfelder and Janice Mitchell. To celebrate Maureen's life, a Memorial Gathering for family and friends will take place on Saturday, December 9th, 2023, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at the Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care University Drive Chapel, located at 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024. A Tributes of a Lifetime Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am. Following the service, all are invited to gather at Denny's, located at 5645 S. University Drive, Davie, FL 33328, to share memories and support one another. Maisie Eugennie Pearson, 93, of Pembroke Pines, passed away on November 27th 2023 in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Maisie was born in St. Mary, Jamaica to Vera Payne and William Koo on May 24th 1930. She married Simpson Pearson on July 15th 1953 in Kingston, Jamaica. She went to school in St. Mary, Jamaica and worked as a primary school teacher in her early years and later as a business entrepreneur. She was involved in the Episcopal Church Women group and Altar Guild at Holy Sacrament Episcopal Church. She received the Annual Bishop's Lay Award in 2009. Maisie is preceded in death by her husband Simpson, her mother Vera, her father William, her sister Lynette, and her brother Everold. Maisie is survived by her children Shirley and Glenn, their spouses Courtney and Sharon, her sister Gloria, her grandchildren Nicole, Christopher, his spouse Cristina, Nathan, Alyssa, and her fiance in training Jordon, her great grandchildren, Marceline, Cyrus and Malachi, and her nieces, Beverley and Sonia. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at 10:00 AM on December 9th 2023 at Holy Sacrament Episcopal Church. The viewing will begin at 9:00 AM. Arrangements are by Fred Hunter's.
