Archie Taylor Groves1960-2023Archie Taylor Groves, age 63, of Ashland, Kentucky, gently passed away with loving memories of his family in his heart on November 29th, 2023, at Kings Daughters Medical Center. Archie was born in the Fall of 1960 on October 30th. He was born one of 12 blessings to the late Arthur and Myrtle Blair Groves. Growing up with many siblings, Archie developed a love for the outdoors that carried over into adulthood. He loved being on the banks of the water fishing about as much as he loved tending to his yard and cutting grass. Archie was talented when it came to the mechanics of cars and he loved to work on them, there was not a car he couldn't fix. When Archie wasn't outside or elbows deep in a car motor, he could be found enjoying an old western on the television. Archie was the most laid back of all his siblings. He was gentle and caring and would just sit back and take in a conversation. Archie was a good husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was loved by so many and leaves behind a void in the hearts of those who cared for him that will only be filled with the memories he left behind. Archie leaves behind his loving wife of 20 years April Sparks Groves, six precious children Gregory Scott Groves of Florida, Matthew Groves of Tennessee, Archie Groves Jr. of Elizabethtown, KY, Elizabeth Salmons of Ashland, KY , Skylar Groves of Ashland, KY, and Gavin Bostick of Ashland, KY, six beloved grandchildren, Nevaeh, Zaidon, Serenity, Abel, Layla, and Hunter, one daughter-in-law Shannon Groves, six brothers, all of Boyd County, KY, Ricky(Connie) Groves, Arnold Groves, Robert Groves, David Groves, Joe(Robin) Groves, and Jerry (Lisa) Groves, four sisters, Sandy(Edward) Groves of Tennessee, Patty (Benny) Mercer of Ashland, Kathy (Jim) Presley of Webville, KY, and Jeannie (Melissa) Madison of Boyd County, KY. Also surviving is one sister-in-law Margaret Sparks, and many extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Archie is preceded in death by one brother Artie Groves. A memorial service to honor the life of Archie Taylor Groves will be announced at a later date.
